    摘要: A hinge which can be included on a brace is disclosed. The hinge can include a first arm, a second arm, and a hinge plate. The first and second arms can be connected to the hinge plate for rotation about first and second axes, respectively. The hinge plate can include an internally threaded aperture. The hinge can also include a force application assembly and an adjustment assembly. The adjustment assembly can include an externally threaded lead screw engaged with the internally threaded aperture, and having a medial end connected to the force application assembly and a keyed bore. The adjustment assembly can include a drive key having a keyed shaft slidingly engaged with the keyed bore and a knob connected to the drive key such that rotation of the knob causes displacement of the force application assembly.

    摘要: A hinge for an orthopedic brace includes: a pivot shaft; a lower leg plate pivoted to the pivot shaft; an upper leg plate; a catch plate having a toothed peripheral edge; and two position adjusting units, each of which includes a rotatable limiting seat, a limiting pin, and a slider body. The rotatable limiting seat defines a housing chamber therein, and is formed with a wall slot. The slider body is slidably disposed in the housing chamber. The limiting pin extends from the slider body through the wall slot for engaging and disengaging the toothed peripheral edge. The catch plate is formed with a guiding groove. The rotatable limiting seat has a tongue protruding into the guiding groove.

    摘要: A splint with at least two restraint portions is used for reducing a bone fracture in a body part that has a first surface and a second surface, where the bone fracture has produced at least a first bone fragment and a second bone fragment. The splint includes a first restraint portion configured to apply pressure directly to the first surface of the body part and a second restraint portion configured to apply pressure directly to the second surface. The first and second restraint portions thereby apply pressure to the first and second bone fragments, respectively. The orientation of the first restraint portion and the second restraint portion can be adjusted to align the first bone fragment and the second bone fragment in a desired orientation that substantially corresponds to an orientation for the first bone fragment and the second bone fragment in a non-fractured bone. A connection assembly between the first restraint portion and the second restraint portion holds the first restraint portion and the second restraint portion substantially immovably with respect to each other.

The subshell may include a plurality of slots and ventilated padding is used in combination with the slots. A tightenable fastener may be adjustably secured to the rigid frame and extend through an opening on the subshell, wherein the first side portion of the subshell is adjustable in location relative to the rigid frame.

    摘要: A knee brace has proximal and distal frame elements with outwardly facing surfaces, and first and second hinges connecting to the frame elements. The brace includes a first strap having a first end directly attached to the first side of the proximal frame element and a second end attached to the first side of the distal frame element so as to spiral from the first side of the proximal frame element to the first side of the distal frame element about posterior and anterior sides of the knee brace. The brace also includes a second strap having a first end directly attached to the second side of the proximal frame element and a second end attached to the second side of the distal frame element so as to spiral from the second side of the distal frame element to the second side of the proximal frame element about the posterior and anterior sides of the knee brace. The first and second straps intersect within a clearance defined between the first and second hinges.
