Abstract:
A method, system, and computer program product for facilitating network delivery of Wireless Markup Language (WML) decks (or decks in similar notations) to memory-constrained client devices such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) devices, by applying a novel deck-reduction process to the decks, such that the decks are reduced by fragmentation into new decks of a manageable size. No loss of deck content occurs in this fragmentation process. The cards of the original deck are grouped into new sub-decks, where each sub-deck is no larger than a particular maximum deck size. When defining the new sub-decks, card adjacency is used along with commonality of event bindings and text strings, in order to regroup the cards in such a way as to reduce the size of the resulting sub-decks while minimizing the number of remote references generated.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for arranging a media object in a media timeline. In one embodiment, a method includes presenting a graphical user interface including a media timeline for arranging a plurality of media objects in an order for presentation. The method includes receiving a selection of a portion of the media timeline representing a time period of presentation is received. The method also includes receiving a search term for association with the selected portion of the media timeline. The method further includes retrieving a media object according to a determination that the media object is related to the search term associated with the selected portion of the media timeline. The method still further includes arranging the retrieved media object in the selected portion of the media timeline for presentation during the represented time period.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention address deficiencies of the art in respect to processing forms submissions in a portal environment and provide a method, system and computer program product for independently refreshing a forms submission in a portal view. In one embodiment, a system for independently submitting forms in a portal view can include a portal server configured to render a portal view and a portlet aggregator coupled to the portal server. The portal aggregator can be configured to provide portlet markup for different portlets in the portal view where at least one of the different portlets includes a visible form includes one or more form elements.
Abstract:
A method for creating a multi-dimensional audio map is provided. The method includes assigning a first audio attribute to a multi-dimensional space comprising at least three dimensions. The method also includes creating, by a computer processor responsive to user input, a first audio attribute layer within the multi-dimensional space, including a first dimension representing an audio attribute value of the first audio attribute for a location defined by at least two other dimensions. A method for generating a mixed output using the multi-dimensional audio map is also provided.
Abstract:
A system for generating mixed audio output using a multi-dimensional audio map includes a computer processor and a multi-dimensional crossfader configured to implement a method. A first audio file is read. A multi-dimensional audio map includes a plurality of audio attribute layers, each including a first dimension representing an audio attribute value for a location defined by at least two other dimensions within a multi-dimensional space. A path is determined to transition between two points in the multi-dimensional audio map. A transition is performed between the two points in the multi-dimensional audio map by selecting corresponding values from each of the plurality of audio attribute layers between the two points. A mixed output is generated by applying the corresponding values from each of the plurality of audio attribute layers between the two points to a portion of the first audio file.
Abstract:
An improved solution for managing processes. In particular, resources are allocated to processes based on a determination of the available resources and an anticipated benefit for each process. The anticipated benefit can be derived from a current status of the process (e.g., lagging or accelerated) and/or benefit knowledge learned from past executions of the process using diverse resource sets. One or more additional attributes, such as resource dependency between processes, can also be considered before allocating resources.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method and system for graphically mapping compatible processing updates. The method includes employing a processor for tracking updates for processing instruction packages. The method further includes determining compatibility between each of the processing instruction packages. The method additionally includes linking combinations of compatible processing instruction packages together. The method also includes providing a map of one or more combinations of linked compatible processing instruction packages and tracked updates for the plurality of processing instruction packages to a graphical user interface for facilitating selection of tracked updates for the plurality of processing instruction packages.
Abstract:
A system and method for self-optimizing traffic flow using shared vehicle information that utilizes multiple controllers in dynamic communication to optimize the flow of traffic. The system and method utilizes one or more traffic synchronization controllers (TSCs) (receivers) that receive information from one or more vehicle based transmitters called vehicle information agents (VIAs) and/or a network of traffic control devices (TCDs) associated with the traffic synchronization controllers to determine a variety of information related to traffic within a geographic region, including volume, speed, destination, intended route of the vehicle, as well as other vehicle related information, in order to determine the optimal flow of traffic within the region. The system and method then transmits traffic control signals to the various traffic control devices within the region or adjacent regions in order to optimally control the flow of traffic. The system and method may also share information amongst traffic synchronization controllers within the network in order to optimize the flow of traffic over a larger region.
Abstract:
A display-based device includes a display assembly having a first viewing portion and a second viewing portion within the first viewing portion and a docking station that removably docks a portable device having an imaging apparatus that includes a display apparatus and/or an image capture apparatus. When docked, the portable device's imaging apparatus is positioned facing a rear side of the second viewing portion. The display-based device operates in a first mode, where data from the display-based device is displayed in the second viewing portion and backlighting for the second viewing portion is provided by the portable device, and operates in a second mode, where the second viewing portion is substantially transparent so that the display apparatus of the portable device can display data through the second viewing portion and/or the image capture apparatus can capture images through the second viewing portion.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for generating a media stream expression for association with a cell of an electronic spreadsheet. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a selection including at least one cell included in the electronic spreadsheet. The selection includes a plurality of media streams associated with the at least one cell. The method also includes presenting a graphical user interface including graphical objects presented in a first arrangement representing the plurality of media streams. The method further includes receiving input for manipulating at least one of the graphical objects for presenting the graphical objects in a second arrangement. The method also includes generating a media stream expression based on the second arrangement of graphical objects. The method further includes associating the media stream expression with a cell.
