Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided, which allow vehicle drivers to be efficiently warned of approaching accident-prone road sections. For this purpose, geographical coordinates of a moving vehicle of a driver are compared with geographical coordinates of boundaries of each of one or more pre-stored accident-prone road sections within a geographical area of interest. As a result of said comparison, an approaching accident-prone road section is determined for the moving vehicle. When the distance between the moving vehicle and the approaching accident-prone road section is equal to a threshold distance, a warning signal is generated and outputted to the driver. The warning signal comprises information about the approaching accident-prone road section that is defined based on accident-related data for each traffic accident occurred on the approaching accident-prone road section during a time period of interest.

Abstract: Example embodiments relate to methods and systems for performing management of a luminaire network. One example embodiment includes a method of performing management in a luminaire network that includes a plurality of luminaires and a control system. Additionally, the method includes predicting, by the control system, for each luminaire motion related conditions for a future period of time based on the retrieved traffic data and the retrieved weather data, preferably motion related conditions influencing the motion behavior of vehicles and/or pedestrians circulating in the vicinity.

Abstract: Among other things, equipment is located at an intersection of a transportation network. The equipment includes an input to receive data from a sensor oriented to monitor ground transportation entities at or near the intersection. A wireless communication device sends to a device of one of the ground transportation entities, a warning about a dangerous situation at or near the intersection, there is a processor and a storage for instructions executable by the processor to perform actions including the following. A machine learning model is stored that can predict behavior of ground transportation entities at or near the intersection at a current time. The machine learning model is based on training data about previous motion and related behavior of ground transportation entities at or near the intersection. Current motion data received from the sensor about ground transportation entities at or near the intersection is applied to the machine learning model to predict imminent behaviors of the ground transportation entities. An imminent dangerous situation for one or more of the ground transportation entities at or near the intersection is inferred from the predicted imminent behaviors. The wireless communication device sends the warning about the dangerous situation to the device of one of the ground transportation entities.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method and system for evaluating road safety based on multi-dimensional influencing factors, and relates to the field of road safety technologies. The method further includes identifying a virtual trajectory that is most similar to a recorded trajectory of the first traffic participant. The method enables an automatic interpretation of an actual maneuver of the first traffic participant based on the virtual behavior of first traffic participant associated with the identified virtual trajectory.
