Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for obtaining user interaction data indicative of interaction by a user with an application executing on a computing device, determining, based on the user interaction data, a likelihood that the user failed to complete a task the user started with the application executing on the computing device, and selectively causing, based on the likelihood, a task-completion reminder to be presented to the user in a manner selected based at least in part on historical reminder consumption.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to associating computing devices with each other based on computer network activity for selection of content items as part of an online content item placement campaign. A first linking factor is identified based on a connection between a first device and the computer network via a first IP address during a first time period, and based on a connection between a second device and the computer network via the first IP address during the first time period. A number of devices that connect with the computer network via the first IP address is determined. A positive match probability is generated. A second and third linking factors are monitored. A negative match probability is determined based on the second and third linking factors. The first device is linked with the second device based on the positive and negative match probabilities.

Abstract: A method of generating user groups using sharding parameters is disclosed. The method identifies a set of sharding parameters including a number of user groups and a set of attributes associated with the number of user groups. The method defines one or more shards based on the number of user groups. The method further creates a user group based on the set of sharding parameters. The method further in response to determining that a number of users in the created user group exceeds a maximum number of users, modifies the set of sharding parameters. The method generates one or more modified user groups based on the modified set of sharding parameters, wherein each of the one or more user groups includes more than a single user.

Abstract: A processing device of a media server selects a media item to be provided to users via a satellite broadcast system, encrypts the media item using an encryption key to generate an encrypted media item, and transmits the encrypted media item to the satellite broadcast system via a first communication protocol. The processing device receives a request from a user device for authorization to decrypt the encrypted media item obtained by the user device via a direct connection with the satellite broadcast system. The request is received by the media server via a second communication protocol that is different from the first communication protocol. The processing device determines whether the user device is authorized to decrypt the encrypted media item, and transmits a key for decrypting the encrypted media item in response to the user device being authorized to decrypt the encrypted media item.

Abstract: Implementations relate to dynamically, and in a context-sensitive manner, biasing voice to text conversion. In some implementations, the biasing of voice to text conversions is performed by a voice to text engine of a local agent, and the biasing is based at least in part on content provided to the local agent by a third-party (3P) agent that is in network communication with the local agent. In some of those implementations, the content includes contextual parameters that are provided by the 3P agent in combination with responsive content generated by the 3P agent during a dialog that: is between the 3P agent, and a user of a voice-enabled electronic device; and is facilitated by the local agent. The contextual parameters indicate potential feature(s) of further voice input that is to be provided in response to the responsive content generated by the 3P agent.

Abstract: A system to improve real-time generation of a graphical user interface for overlapping electronic content is described. The system retrieves, responsive to a search request input into a computing device and received via a computer network, places of interest from a places of interest database, and content items from a content item database. The system selects, based on a heuristic technique, a content item as a match for a place of interest. The system combines the content item with the place of interest to prevent a first marker of the content item from obscuring a second marker of the place of interest. The system renders, for display on the graphical user interface via the computing device, a single marker for the content item and the place of interest combined to prevent the first marker of the content item from obscuring the second marker of the place of interest.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method and system are described for receiving input for a virtual user in a virtual environment. The input may be based on a plurality of movements performed by a user accessing the virtual environment. Based on the plurality of movements, the method and system can include detecting that at least one portion of the virtual user is within a threshold distance of a collision zone, the collision zone being associated with at least one virtual object. The method and system can also include selecting a collision mode for the virtual user based on the at least one portion and the at least one virtual object and dynamically modifying the virtual user based on the selected collision mode.

Abstract: Implementations disclose methods and systems for providing offline content notification reminders. A method includes downloading, via a network, a content item onto a user device; receiving, from a server device via the network, an offline reminder notification for the content item, a time frame for presenting the offline reminder notification, and a user engagement state threshold; placing the offline reminder notification for the content item in a notification queue; determining, at a time corresponding to the time frame, a user engagement state in relation to the content item; determining whether the user engagement state meets the user engagement state threshold; and in response to determining that the user engagement state does not meet the user engagement state threshold, presenting the offline reminder notification for the content item via the user device during the time frame, and removing the offline reminder notification from the notification queue.

Abstract: Systems and methods for extracting audiovisual features from online document elements are described herein. A computing device can identify a first audiovisual content element on an online document and can retrieve a second audiovisual content element from a content provider database. The computing device can extract an image, video, or audio feature from the first and the second audiovisual content elements by applying image feature, video frame feature, or audio fingerprint detection. The computing device can determine a match between the features extracted from the first and the second audiovisual content elements. The computing device can select the second audiovisual content element for display on the online document based on the match. The computing device can transmit the second audiovisual content element for insertion in a content slot of the online document.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for increasing dimensionality of data structures associated with filling positions. In some implementations, a prediction of desired experience for a given position to be filled may be used to increase the dimensionality of a searchable data structure that represents the given position. For example, the predicted desired experience may be incorporated into a searchable field of the data structure. Among other things, increasing the dimensionality of the data structure may facilitate more granular searching of positions and guided creation of new positions to be filled. In some implementations, a predicted desired experience may be used to notify a user posting a new position whether a specified desired experience corresponds to a predicted desired experience.
