    Abstract: A positioning mechanism includes two adjusting devices. The adjusting device includes: a shaft that extends between a first apparatus and a second apparatus in a facing direction where the first and second apparatus face each other and has an outer peripheral surface with a threaded portion formed therein; a holding member that is provided on the first apparatus, has a threaded hole formed through in the facing direction, and holds the shaft member passing through the threaded hole; an abutment member that is provided on an end of the shaft member close to the second apparatus and abuts on a connectable surface of the second apparatus and a compression coil spring that is disposed to surround the shaft member and the abutment member and is clamped and compressed between the holding member and the connectable surface of the second apparatus.

    Abstract: A degassing device removes air dissolved in a liquid under a pressure decreased atmosphere, includes a liquid tank, a pressure decreasing device, a circulation flow pass, a circulation device, a dissolved gas amount measuring device, and a control device. The liquid tank stores the liquid. The pressure decreasing device decreases pressure in the liquid tank. The circulation flow pass communicates different positions of the liquid tank. The circulation device circulates the liquid through the circulation flow pass. The dissolved gas amount measuring device measures an amount of dissolved gas of the liquid in the liquid tank. The control device controls the circulation device in accordance with the amount of dissolved gas measured by the dissolved gas amount measuring device.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a developing device, a separating mechanism, and a cooling unit. The developing device includes a developing roller and a developing housing, and is detachably supported by a support frame. The separating mechanism separates the developing roller from a photoconductor drum before the developing device is removed from the support frame. The cooling unit cools the developing device. The developing housing has a bottom plate with high thermal conductivity. The cooling unit includes a heat receiving plate facing the bottom plate, and a cooling tube supported by the heat receiving plate. In the image forming apparatus, when the developing roller is not separated, the bottom plate comes in contact with the cooling tube, and when the developing roller is separated, the bottom plate is separated from the cooling tube.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus performs a transfer residual toner collection operation including a toner adhesion step of allowing transfer residual toner to temporarily adhere to the collecting roller during execution of image forming operation, a toner moving step of moving the transfer residual toner adhered on the collecting roller to an image carrier after the image forming operation is finished, and a toner collecting step of moving the transfer residual toner from the image carrier to an intermediate transfer body and collecting the transfer residual toner. The control unit controls an image forming unit having white background toner amount that is a threshold value or more, to apply the collecting roller with a voltage having the same polarity as toner charge polarity in the toner adhesion step, and to apply the collecting roller with a voltage having opposite polarity to the toner charge polarity in the toner moving step.

    Abstract: Devices, such as printers, for rendering compressed digital images, include a deserializer and multiple planar SRLE decoders each configured to transform an applied code from a serial input stream into one or more planar pixel values. The deserializer maintains a cursor position for each of the planar SRLE decoders and increments the cursor position of a corresponding one of the planar SRLE decoders in response to dequeuing a code of the corresponding planar SRLE decoder. The increment is an amount equal to a count of planar pixel values represented by the code. The planar pixel values output from the SRLE decoders are combined into a digital image rendering.
