    Abstract: A spark gap circuit includes a circuit board. The spark gap circuit also includes an input configured to connect to the circuit board and to receive signals. The spark gap circuit also includes a spark gap configured to connect to the circuit board and the input. The spark gap circuit also includes an output configured to connect to the spark gap. The spark gap is configured to cause a return loss between the input and the output to be within a first predetermined range. The spark gap is configured to cause a parasitic capacitance between the input and the output to be within a second predetermined range.

    Abstract: An entry device includes an entry port, a filter connected to the entry port, a plurality of first output ports, and a plurality of second output ports. A first path extends from the entry port, through the filter, to the first output ports. The first path is configured to pass cable television (CATV) signals therethrough and to prevent at least a portion of multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) signals from passing therethrough. A second path extends from the entry port, through the filter, to the second output ports. The second path is configured to prevent at least a portion of the CATV signals and at least a portion of the MoCA signals from passing therethrough. A third path extends from the first output ports, through the filter, to the second output ports. The third path is configured to pass the MoCA signals therethrough and to prevent at least a portion of the CATV signals from passing therethrough.

    Abstract: A coaxial cable connector includes a nut housing having a rearward cable receiving end and a forward end opposite said rearward end, a front nut assembly coupled to the forward end of the nut housing, and a conductive metal tubular insert shaft supported within the nut housing or the front nut assembly. The front nut assembly includes an entry body housing and a conductive terminal pin extending from a forward end of the front nut assembly, and the conductive metal tubular insert shaft has a rearward end portion. A nonconductive plastic tubular support sleeve has a forward end portion coupled with the rearward end portion of the conductive metal tubular insert shaft, a tubular gripping ferrule radially surrounds the metal insert shaft and the plastic support sleeve, and a tubular outer sleeve radially surrounds at least a portion of said gripping ferrule. The gripping ferrule and the tubular outer sleeve are configured to be moved relative to one another in an axial direction such that the gripping ferrule and the tubular outer sleeve are configured to engage one another, thereby causing the gripping ferrule to radially compress around the conductive metal tubular insert shaft and the nonconductive plastic tubular support sleeve.

    Abstract: A grounding member for maintaining a ground path in a cable connector includes, in one embodiment, an inner core configured to flex when a force is applied to the grounding member during operation of the connector. The grounding member further includes an outer conductive coating applied to the inner core. The outer conductive coating is configured to flex from a first state to a second state when a force is applied to the grounding member, so as to maintain a conductive path through the connector when the outer conductive coating flexes between the first and second states during operation of the connector.

    Abstract: A cable system component includes a nut having a seal-grasping surface portion and a seal having an elastically deformable tubular body attached to the nut. The body has a posterior sealing surface that cooperatively engages the seal-grasping surface portion of the nut and a forward sealing surface configured to cooperatively engage an interface port. The seal includes a nonconductive elastomer overlying a conductive elastomer in a radial dimension of the seal. The conductive elastomer is configured to make an electrical ground connection with the interface port before a center conductor of the coaxial cable makes an electrical connection with an internal contact of the interface port when the nut is coupled with the interface port.
