Abstract:
A relay communication system is described in which a relay node communicates with a base station using a sequence of frames, each frame comprising a plurality of sub-frames. The relay node has an energy saving mode in which it monitors for communications from said base station in at least one pre-determined sub-frame of each frame and does not monitor for communication from said base station in at least one other sub-frame of that frame.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions comprising variants of alpha-amylase that have alpha-amylase activity and which exhibit altered properties relative to a parent AmyS-like alpha-amylase from which they are derived. The compositions comprise an additional enzyme such as a phytase. Also disclosed are methods of using the compositions, and kits related thereto.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an enzyme blend comprising a low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase and a Bacillus licheniformis alpha-amylase. The blend can include at least about 1.0 Liquefon Unit (LU) of the B. licheniformis alpha-amylase for every 5.0 Modified Wohlgemuth Unit (MWU) of the low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase. The enzyme blend described is suitable for starch liquefaction and saccharification, ethanol production, and/or sweetener production, among other things. Also provided herein is a method of processing a starch by liquefying the starch with the low pH, thermostable alpha-amylase and the Bacillus licheniformis alpha-amylase, simultaneously or sequentially.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a process for producing isoprene from a starch substrate by saccharification and/or fermentation. The saccharification is effectively catalyzed by a glucoamylase at a pH in the range of 5.0 to 8.0. At a pH of 6.0 or above, the glucoamylase possesses at least 50% activity relative to its maximum activity. The saccharification and fermentation may be performed as a simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) process.
Abstract:
The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for securely and efficiently extending data processing pipeline functionality. Data processing agents register, potentially based solely on configuration data contained in the data processing agents, to manipulate data of a data processing pipeline. Configuration data can identify a specified event (e.g., an SMTP verb) the data processing agent is to hook into. Upon detection of a specified event, one or more agents that have registered for the specified event are loaded into secure zones. Process boundaries separate agents from one another and from other processes such that execution of each agent is isolated from other processes. Pipeline related data (e.g., electronic message data) is transferred to each loaded agent. Application Program Interfaces (“APIs”) can be used to transfer data between modules that implement embodiments of the present invention.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting incursions for an aircraft and surface vehicles includes an incursion processor receiving ownship position from an ownship navigation processor, traffic information from a traffic surveillance processor, and obstacle information from an obstacle detector and generating alert information. The apparatus also includes a display processor receiving airport chart information and providing display information for displaying the alert information and airport chart information.
Abstract:
A method to execute verb-noun cmdlets to retrieve mailbox information or receive connector information from an e-mail server includes opening an e-mail management tool and receiving and parsing at least one cmdlet having a verb-noun syntax. A get-mailbox cmdlet retrieves mailbox information from an e-mail server and a get-receiveconnector cmdlet retrieves receive connector information from the e-mail server. Both cmdlets may have parameters that allow the retrieval of all, one or many mailboxes or receive connectors associated with the e-mail server. One implementation of the e-mail management tool is in a WINDOWS™ computing environment where the management host executes in a POWERSHELL™ scripting environment.
Abstract:
A method and system for determining a plurality of coefficients of an objective function of a mathematical programming model. Attributes of the model are identified. A first set of coefficient values determining a first solution and initially representing the plurality of coefficients is determined by employing a specified ranking of the attributes. A prevailing solution is initialized to the first solution. Additional sets of coefficient values are generated, each set determining a corresponding additional solution of the model. The additional solutions are evaluated (e.g., by the Analytic Hierarchy Process) to provide a ranking of the solutions, where the ranking is dependent upon the attributes. The ranking of the additional solutions is used to select a second solution. The prevailing solution is set to the second solution if the second solution exceeds a sum of the prevailing solution and a specified tolerance.
Abstract:
A method and system for managing projects on a network platform that enables a buyer to make a buy request for a project on a network platform. The buy request includes various requirements of the project. In response to the buy request, various sellers provide submissions for the project on the network platform. The submissions may be utilized by the buyer of the project. Various sellers can provide the submissions that comply with one or more requirements of the project. The buyer utilizes the submissions to execute the project, based on their compliance with the requirements of the project, and provides compensation to the sellers.
