Abstract: A base station may be configured to perform operations related to link management for a remote user equipment (UE). The operations comprising, transmitting configuration information to the remote UE and receiving information corresponding to a serving link associated with the remote UE. The operations further comprising determining that the serving link associated with the remote UE is to be switched from a first communication link to a second communication link. The operations further comprising, transmitting a message to the remote UE indicating that the serving link associated with the remote UE is to be switched from the first communication link to the second communication link. The operations further comprising, transmitting a message to a relay UE. The message is configured to trigger the relay UE to perform an operation corresponding to the serving link associated with the remote UE.

Abstract: Some embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product for managing power consumption of a user equipment (UE) supporting sidelink discontinuous reception (SL-DRX) in a 5G wireless communications system. A UE determines a candidate slot for sending a signal based on data sensed in various periods over a history window. Some embodiments include a processor that can determine set of candidate slots that are sufficiently sensed based on sensed periods over a history window, and determine a subset of candidate slots of the set of candidate slots based at least on an occupancy threshold over the history window. The processor can select a candidate slot from the subset of candidate slots, and transmit via the transceiver, a first signal via the selected candidate slot.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) operates in a network. The UE receives, from the network, a paging area comprising a plurality of cells of the network. When the UE is in one of a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state or RRC idle state with respect to the network, the UE transmits a message to a first cell of the paging area based on the UE moving into a first coverage area of the first cell from a second coverage area of a second cell of the paging area.
