摘要： A heat transfer recording medium which comprises tissue paper having thereon an ink layer comprised of material fluidizable or sublimatable upon the application of heat. The tissue paper has a thickness of 5 to 25 .mu.m, a density of 0.8 to 1.45 g/cm.sup.3, a smoothness of 200 to 20,000 seconds (determined by the Oken type measurement) and a water content adjusted to 6 to 13 wt % after forming the ink layer thereon. The medium does not generate puckers when employed in a transfer type heat sensitive recording apparatus under high temperature and humidity conditions.

摘要： A heat-sensitive recording apparatus includes a two-stage buffer memory for storing input video signals corresponding to one line, and a counter which determines the proportion of "black" signals in one line as the signals are input thereto. Whether printing of the line is to be carried out in one or plural operations is determined by the determined proportion, and a signal indicative of the number of operations is outputted to a block driver prior to the time when the corresponding video signals are outputted by the second stage of the buffer memory to a shift register.

摘要： A device for recording predetermined magnetization patterns on a magnetic recording medium such as for use in a copying machine. The magnetic medium is first magnetized with a uniform magnetization pattern then passed to a thermal printing head upon which a number of heat generating elements are arranged one-dimensionally on a supporting substrate. The heat generating elements are selectively activated to heat the recording magnetic medium to a temperature greater than the Curie temperature thereof so as to change the direction of the magnetization of the magnetic medium in cooperation with a biasing magnetic field.

摘要： A method of driving a thermal printing head includes expanding the printing time for a line which follows successive non-printed (blank) lines. In this manner, deterioration otherwise caused in the print density can be avoided without employing an auxiliary heater for the thermal head. Instead of expanding the printing time, the applied voltage may be increased to achieve the same result.

摘要： A transparent film for forming, e.g., a toner image thereon is provided as an optically transparent sheet member having an opaque part. During the image forming, the position and conveyance state of the transparent film are detected optically by utilizing the opaque part. After the image formation, the opaque part is cleared by (i) detaching the opaque part under heating, or (ii) clarifying the opaque part by heating and/or light illumination. Accordingly, the opaque part required for image forming does not adversely affect the final transparent film product, such as an overhead projection film. The clearing of the opaque part may be performed, e.g., along with the fixation of the toner image onto the transparent film.

摘要： A thermal transfer recording and correction method, in which a thermal transfer ink layer is placed in contact with a transfer-receiving medium and is heated by heat generating elements of a thermal head in a pattern corresponding to a recording signal, is improved by preheating the ink layer. The ink layer, which is characterized by a transfer initiation temperature, is preheated by the thermal head which is heated by a preheating means. When a region of the ink layer is then further heated by the heat generating elements, the temperature of that region has a maximum and a minimum both within a range extending from the transfer initiation temperature to about 40.degree. C. higher than the transfer initiation temperature. Since the maximum and minimum temperatures are within a suppressed temperature range, an erroneous image can be more easily peeled off the transfer-receiving medium.

摘要： A thermal transfer recording apparatus adapted to record an image on a recording medium by transferring a heat-transferable ink from a transfer medium to the recording medium. The apparatus has a transfer medium having on one surface a layer of a heat-transferable electroconductive ink formed on a base sheet, a recording head for heating the transfer medium in accordance with an image signal, and an electrode disposed in physical contact with the ink surface of the transfer medium so as to form a path from the electrode medium through which electric current is allowed to flow. Therefore, the apparatus prevents any path for electricity from being formed between the transfer medium and the recording head.
