摘要: The present invention comprises a piston-flush toilet system that may use appreciably less water than commonly used toilets today. Such a piston-flush toilet system may comprise a bowl to accept waste and a chamber comprising a waste inlet connected to the bowl and a waste outlet connected to a sewer system or the like. A piston may be disposed within the chamber capable of sealing the waste inlet.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a device that measures volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by an individual's urine, feces or present in flatulence for use in assessing the individual's health. The device may be part of a toilet. The device includes a gas sensor that measures VOCs in the air within the toilet bowl after waste is deposited therein. The device includes a manifold that keeps air from the toilet bowl separate from water and waste in the toilet bowl until the gas sensor has collected readings. Then the manifold combines the air, water, and waste before depositing the material into the sewer system. The gas sensor may be connected to a processor that analyses the gas sensor readings, provides a report of the analyzed data, and transmits the data to a network. A healthcare provider may download the data from the network to assess the individual's health.

摘要: A specimen collection receptacle formed by a channel disposed within the wall of a toilet bowl. The receptacle is located above the weir water line. The receptacle comprises a channel open to the interior of the bowl having opposed non-parallel side walls. The side walls may be joined opposite the opening. The side walls may be joined by a bottom wall. The bottom wall may be arcuate. The side walls may be non-planar. The walls may exhibit a roughened surface. The receptacle may comprise an optical window. The receptacle may comprise a cuvette. The receptacle may be in communication with one or more light emitting probes. The receptacle may be self-cleaning. The receptacle may comprise a replaceable module disposed in the wall of the toilet bowl. The receptacle may be located at the front of the toilet bowl. The receptacle may be disposed in a toilet bowl liner or insert.
