摘要: The medical toilet includes one or more sensors for measuring hardness of a soft tissue in contact with the sensor. The one or more sensors may be positioned on the toilet seat, toilet lid, or on a foot scale which extends from the base of the medical toilet. The sensors may include durometers, fluid-filled bubbles with pressure sensors on them, or an inflatable tube with pressure sensors on it. The measurements may be transmitted to a controller which may store and analyze the data. Changes in tissue hardness over time may be tracked and reported. The sensors may identify changes in the hardness of skin, adipose tissue, and muscle. These measurements may be useful to identify changes in skin thickness, body fat, muscle tone, tumors and other masses.

摘要: The sensor platform array includes a plurality of sensors and one or more sensor platforms. Each sensor may be mounted on a sensor platform. The sensor platform may be mounted on a support panel. The support panel may be mounted on a toilet lid. The one or more sensor platforms may be extendable towards a user seated on the toilet. Each sensor may be independently extended so that it is positioned flush against a user's body. The sensor platform array may include bendable arms which reach around a user and place sensors on the ventral side of the user. The sensors may collect measurements which are relevant to the user's health and well-being. In some embodiments, the sensors may be removable and replaceable so that different sensors may be added according to a user's individual needs.

摘要: The liquid sample capture apparatus captures a sample of a liquid and holds the sample for optical analysis. The apparatus may include a mount which is traversed by a sample conduit. The mount may have an elongated shape and two ferrules may be placed within the mount along the longitudinal axis of the mount. An end of each of the ferrules may extend into the sample conduit forming a narrowing of the sample conduit which holds the liquid and prevents it from escaping prior to analysis. The opposite ends of the ferrules may each be connected to an optical cable. The optical cables may be connected to an analytical device, for example, a spectrometer. The apparatus may be mounted within a toilet bowl where it may capture and analyze a urine sample.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a toilet that includes a slanted fill tube with an optical proximity sensor positioned on or within the inner surface of the fill tube. The optical proximity sensor includes an incoherent light source and a photodiode. The optical proximity sensor as disclosed herein detects small changes in volumes added to a toilet bowl. Consequently, small volumes of excrement that are deposited in the toilet bowl by a user may be detected with greater accuracy. In some embodiments, information about the volume of urine or feces deposited into the toilet bowl is recorded and calculated by a processor. Other sensors, including a toilet bowl water level sensor and a gas sensor may collect data in combination with the optical proximity sensor to provide more complete information about the user's health.

摘要: A urinalysis cassette and system that includes a toilet, into which a urinalysis cassette is inserted. The cassette is comprised of a roll of color-change-reagent strips. Each strip includes a plurality of strip sections wherein an absorbent material is imbued with color-change reagent, or onto which one or more color-change reagents are dispensed. The color-change-reagent strips are consecutive and contiguous on the roll. A cassette includes two spools arranged such that when the spools turn, the reagent strip moves from a first (source spool) to a second (waste spool). The section of the reagent strip that is between the two spools may be exposed to a urine specimen. The absorbent-material strips that have been exposed to both a urine specimen and a color-change reagent may undergo a chemical reaction. Selective-lighting illumination may be applied to absorbent-material strips that have undergone such chemical reactions to measure reflectivity of certain color wavelengths. This measurement may be expressed in terms of a digital readout, which may be displayed on a user interface.

摘要: A helical drain for a toilet is disclosed. The present invention relates to a novel toilet drain configuration. Specifically, the novel toilet drain configuration comprises a helical loop trapway. The drain of the present invention exits the toilet bowl and forms a substantially vertical tubular loop running generally parallel to the width of the bowl or stool, or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bowl or stool, before being connected to a sewer. The drain of the present invention functions like a P-trap syphon in removing the contents of the bowl. The diameter of the looped tubular portion of the drain may vary by approximately 20 percent or less in the direction of the sewer connection. Sensors may be placed on the drain to monitor drain contents, fluid levels, and drain performance. The drain may be fitted with valves to control the flow of fluids and gases through the drain.
