Abstract: A method and system for implanting and repositioning an implantable device for a native valve of a patient's heart includes a delivery catheter, a collar, a coupler, and an actuation element. The actuation element extends through the delivery catheter and attaches to the device to open the device. The collar is connected to the device and the coupler is connected to the delivery catheter. The collar and coupler are tied together via one or more coupling tethers which can be used to reengage the device after an initial deployment.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an expandable positioning device for improving the coaptation of heart valve leaflets is provided. The expandable positioning device can include one or more expandable members. A first expandable member extends below a leaflet in order to reposition the leaflet to improve coaptation with another leaflet. A second expandable member extends above a leaflet in order to secure the expandable delivery device at the implantation site. The expandable positioning device can include a neck that is inserted through the leaflet on which the device is implanted. The expandable positioning device can include a coupling member to releasably couple the device to a delivery device. One or more sealing members can be included in the expandable positioning device to maintain a desired level of expansion of the one or more expandable members.

Abstract: An exemplary valve repair device for repairing a native valve of a patient includes: a collar; a coaption element attached to the collar; and a pair of paddles are connected to the coaption element. The collar has a plurality of engagement portions configured to releasably engage a delivery apparatus. The paddles are movable between an open position and a closed position and are configured to attach to the native valve of the patient. The paddles are circumferentially disposed between the engagement portions.

Abstract: An implantable prosthetic device has a coaption element and at least one anchor. The coaption element is configured to be positioned within the native heart valve orifice to help fill a space where the native valve is regurgitant and form a more effective seal. The coaption element can have a structure that is impervious to blood. The coaption element can be connected to leaflets of the native valve by the anchor.

Abstract: A coronary artery check valve includes a stent configured to attach to an inner wall of a coronary artery of a living subject, and a tapered helical coil coupled to the stent and configured to regulate blood flow in the coronary artery. The coronary artery check valve is configured to prevent retrograde flow of the coronary blood supply during diastole by closing during systole of the heart when the tapered helical coil compresses longitudinally, and opening when the tapered helical coil expands longitudinally to permit blood flow into the coronary artery when a coronary pressure of the living subject drops below diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract: An exemplary valve repair system for repairing a native valve of a patient during a non-open-heart procedure has a delivery device and a valve repair device. The valve repair device is configured to be delivered through a lumen of the delivery device and to attach to a native valve of a patient. The valve repair device has first and second paddles and first and second gripping members. The first and second paddles are movable between an open position and a closed position. The first gripping member is attached to the first paddle and the second gripping member is attached to the second paddle. The gripping members are configured to attach to the native valve of the patient. A gripper control mechanism is configured to separately move the first and second gripping members.
