Abstract:
Device, system, and method of adjusting channel utilization for wireless transmission. For example, a wireless communication unit may control a wireless transmission by a wireless communication device during a contention period, wherein the wireless communication unit is to wait for a back-off period prior to beginning the wireless transmission during the contention period, and wherein a duration of the back-off period is based on a transmission power of the wireless transmission. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a central scheduler and method for adaptive clustering are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a cluster of transmitter-receiver pairs is selected based on minimum singular values calculated from direct channel information and the selected pairs are instructed to perform an interference alignment technique.
Abstract:
One website mining embodiment is for characterizing first time users of a website, collecting user session data of the users visiting the website and identifying first time visitors, determining features of the first time visitors utilizing the user session data, determining rules utilizing the features of the first time visitors, monitoring actions of the first time visitors on the website, updating the rules utilizing the monitored actions of the first time visitors and recommending web content utilizing the rules to the first time visitor.
Abstract:
A method to predict remaining life of a target is disclosed. The method includes receiving information regarding a behavior of the target, and identifying from a database at least one piece of equipment having similarities to the target. The method further includes retrieving from the database data prior to an end of the equipment useful life, the data having a relationship to the behavior, evaluating a similarity of the relationship, predicting the remaining life of the target based upon the similarity, and generating a signal corresponding to the predicted remaining equipment life.
Abstract:
In a wireless network, when using an intermediate node to relay two-way communications between two other nodes, the data sets going in opposite directions may be intercepted and XOR'd together by the intermediate node to produce a third data set. The third data set may then be transmitted simultaneously to both destination nodes (e.g., through a multicast transmission), which each use another XOR operation to produce the message intended for them. Identification numbers may be appended to the various messages to allow each node to keep track of which messages are intended for it, and which data to use in the XOR operation. If bidirectional network traffic is unbalanced, separate time periods may be established by a network controller for transmission of data sets that are to be coded and those that are not.
Abstract:
A computer user interface for use in a transport vehicle (10), which defines a virtual control panel in the upper open area of the vehicle steering wheel (12). The user enters inputs by action in appropriate sections of the virtual control panel area. A computer controlled display (20) illustrates a map to the user of locations of sections in the virtual control panel area, and information that can be input by user action with particular sections. A sensor (22) monitors the virtual control panel area, and produces electronic information corresponding to user action in the virtual control panel area. Software logic in a computer (46) analyzes the electronic information to determine if there has been user action and the location thereof, for designating an action as a particular user input. Based upon the designation, the computer produces an appropriate output, such as operating or adjusting vehicle systems.
