摘要: An application apparatus includes a first roller configured to apply a treatment liquid to a recording medium conveyed; and a second roller disposed in contact with the first roller and forming, with the first roller, a conveyance nip in which the recording medium is nipped. The application apparatus further includes a third roller disposed in contact with the first roller at a position different from the conveyance nip, and a fourth roller disposed in contact with the second roller at a position different from the conveyance nip. The third roller has a rigidity higher than a rigidity of the first roller, and the fourth roller has rigidity higher than a rigidity of the second roller.

摘要: A coating apparatus is connectable to both an image forming apparatus and a sheet feeder. The coating apparatus includes a coater, a carry-in entrance, and an ejector. The coater coats a recording medium with a treatment liquid. The carry-in entrance is on one of two exterior wall surfaces facing each other. The recording medium is conveyed from the sheet feeder through the carry-in entrance. The ejector is on another of the two exterior wall surfaces. The ejector ejects the recording medium to the image forming apparatus. A position of the carry-in entrance on the one of the exterior wall surfaces matches a position of the ejector on said another of the exterior wall surfaces.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a charging unit, an image carrier, an exposing unit, a developing unit, a transfer belt on which the transfer material is placed, a fixing unit that fixes the toner image transferred onto the transfer material, a cleaning unit that cleans up toner attached to the fixing unit, and a control unit that controls printing of the image on the transfer material. The control unit causes the exposing unit to expose a latent image of a first image having an image-area ratio equal to or larger than a predetermined ratio, causes the developing unit to form a toner image of the latent image and to transfer the toner image to the transfer material, and causes the fixing unit to fix the toner image transferred by the transfer belt to the transfer material.

The choker bars with the choker adjustment bolts are moved so as to adjust the gap in a choker portion. Thermal conductors (37, 38) are provided with the respective choker adjustment bolts.

摘要: A fixing device includes an enclosure housing, a removable handle, and a detachable attachment mechanism. The enclosure housing encloses the fixing device therein. The removable handle detachably attaches to the housing to move the housing at least in a direction of handling. The detachable attachment mechanism includes a pair of first mutually engageable portions in the housing and a pair of second mutually engageable portions in the handle. A method of installing a fixing device in an image forming apparatus is also disclosed.
