摘要: A developing method wherein an oscillating electric field is formed in a development area between an image retainer; and a developer feeding carrier of a composite developer containing a chargeable component, and the oscillating waveform of the oscillating electric field is varied to provide an adjustment of the development performance. Preferably, the oscillating electric field is an alternating electric field. The oscillating waveform is modified by varying the amplitude, bias, selection time for a time-selected waveform transformation, or frequency thereof.

摘要: A method of reproducing multiplex images wherein an electrostatic image is formed on an image retainer by using a common electrostatic image forming device, the electrostatic image formed on the image retainer is developed, the steps of the above are repeated to superpose a plurality of toner images on the image retainer, and the toner images is transferred on a recording paper by one step. The developings other than the first time developing are carried out in such a manner that the surface of a developer layer on a developer feeding carrier does not contact with the surface of the toner image on the image retainer.

摘要: An abnormality determining apparatus is capable of avoiding mistaken determinations due to the normal value of information obtained by an information obtaining unit differing according to the content of specific information such as the operating mode setting, and deterioration of the determination precision due to a change in the user of a detection subject. The abnormality determining apparatus comprises an information storage unit for storing normal index information serving as an index of a normal state of the detection subject, an information obtaining unit for obtaining a plurality of types of information, and an abnormality determining unit for determining the presence of an abnormality in the detection subject on the basis of the normal index information stored in the information storage unit, and the information obtained by the information obtaining unit. The information storage unit stores a plurality of normal index information having different values. The abnormality determining unit selects, at a predetermined timing, normal index information to be used to determine the presence of an abnormality in the detection subject from the plurality of normal index information.

摘要: An image forming apparatus of the present invention includes a bias power supply for applying a bias VB to a developer carrier on which a developer is deposited. A charge potential deposited on an image carrier, which faces the developer carrier for forming a latent image thereon, is 400 V or below in absolute value. Assume that the potential of the image carrier is lowered to VL after exposure, that a development potential is |VB−VL|, that the maximum set value of the development potential for development is |VB−VL|max, and that the development potential varies in a range satisfying relations: |VB−VL|≦|VB−VL|max+|VB−VL|max×0.2 |VB−VL|≧|VB−VL|max−|VB−VL|max×0.2 |VB−VL|max≦300 V Then image density varies by a width of 10% of image density corresponding to the maximum set value of the development potential or less.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image support which supports an electrostatic latent image on a surface of the image support. A developing unit has a developing agent support which retains a developing agent, including a toner and carriers, contained in the developing unit. The developing unit converts the latent image on the image support into a toner image by causing the toner to adhere to the surface of the image support. A developing bias supplying unit supplies a developing bias voltage to the developing agent support of the developing unit, the developing bias voltage being one of a DC bias voltage and an AC bias voltage. A timer measures a non-driven period of the developing agent in the developing unit. A control unit selects one of the DC bias voltage and the AC bias voltage from the developing bias supplying unit based on the non-driven period measured by the timer, and controls the developing bias voltage at an output of the developing bias supplying unit such that the selected one of the DC bias voltage and the AC bias voltage is supplied to the developing agent support.
