摘要： A rotation measuring mechanism capable of measuring a rotation amount and a displacement amount of a rotary member in a direction perpendicular to the rotation axis is provided. An exemplary combination of the rotation measuring mechanism includes a detection target rotating in synchrony with the rotary member and range sensors. Each time the detection target rotates once, each sensor outputs one cycle of a sine wave. The amplitude of the sine wave output from the sensor varies in accordance with the displacement of the detection target together with the rotary member in the direction perpendicular to the axis, thereby obtaining the rotation amount and the displacement amount of the rotary member.

A behavior detecting unit detects behavior of the recording member fed out of a conveying nip formed by a pair of conveying members. An index calculating unit calculates an index value indicating windability of the recording member with respect to the conveying members based on the width information as well as the image area, the behavior, and the thickness information.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an acquiring unit that acquires a plurality of types of operation control information of the image forming apparatus; an index value calculating unit that calculates an index value indicating a state of the image forming apparatus based on the acquired operation control information; an abnormality judging unit that judges whether the image forming apparatus abnormality has occurred and predicts an occurrence of a failure based on the index value; and a detection pattern position detecting unit that detects a position of a detection pattern on an image carrier carrying a toner image. The detection pattern is formed on the image carrier carrying the toner image. The detection pattern position detecting unit detects the position of the detection pattern formed on the image carrier. The index value calculating unit uses information based on position detection data as the operation control information of the image forming apparatus.

摘要： An abnormality determining apparatus is capable of avoiding mistaken determinations due to the normal value of information obtained by an information obtaining unit differing according to the content of specific information such as the operating mode setting, and deterioration of the determination precision due to a change in the user of a detection subject. The abnormality determining apparatus comprises an information storage unit for storing normal index information serving as an index of a normal state of the detection subject, an information obtaining unit for obtaining a plurality of types of information, and an abnormality determining unit for determining the presence of an abnormality in the detection subject on the basis of the normal index information stored in the information storage unit, and the information obtained by the information obtaining unit. The information storage unit stores a plurality of normal index information having different values. The abnormality determining unit selects, at a predetermined timing, normal index information to be used to determine the presence of an abnormality in the detection subject from the plurality of normal index information.

摘要： A method for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier with a developing liquid includes storing a liquid consisting of a developing substance and a carrier liquid developing and sensing the liquid fed from the liquid storing section thereon and sensing a liquid level in the liquid storing section using a liquid level sensor. The liquid level sensor includes a magnetic force generating member for generating a magnetic force, a magnetic force sensing device for sensing the magnetic force, and floats movable up and down in accordance with the liquid level in the liquid storing section. A distance between the magnetic force generating member and the magnetic force sensing device varies in accordance with the movement of the floats, allowing the liquid level to be determined on the basis of the output of the magnetic force sensing device. An image forming method including a developing device is also disclosed.

A high heat conductivity member which serves as a partition is provided between the transport screws, and a radiator which is led to an outside of the developer and which includes a plurality of radiation fins is constituted in an upper portion of the developer. To increase a heat receiving area for receiving heat from the developing solution, a second high heat conductivity member which is formed out of a graphite sheet is bonded to an inner wall surface of a lower casing, and the second high heat conductivity member contacts with the high heat conductivity member.
