Abstract: A socket for use with an anvil of a rotary power tool includes a socket body with a driven end and a working end. The socket also includes a locking element adapted to engage a locking recess in the anvil. The locking element is positioned within a slot in the socket body and movable between a lock position and a release position. A locking sleeve surrounding the driven end of the socket body is also included. The locking sleeve is movable between a lock position and a release position. An engagement ring is included on the locking sleeve and is adapted to engage the locking element preventing radially outward motion of the locking element when in the lock position. The socket also includes a first spring adapted to bias the locking element toward the lock position, and a second spring adapted to bias the locking sleeve toward the lock position.

Abstract: A rotary hammer includes a housing, a first motor supported by the housing and defining a first motor axis, a second motor supported by the housing and defining a second motor axis that is coaxial with the first motor axis, and a spindle coupled to the first motor for receiving torque from the first motor, causing the spindle to rotate. The rotary hammer further includes a reciprocation mechanism operable to create a variable pressure air spring within the spindle. The reciprocation mechanism includes a piston configured to reciprocate within the spindle in response to receiving torque from the second motor, a striker that is selectively reciprocable within the spindle in response to reciprocation of the piston, and an anvil that is impacted by the striker when the striker reciprocates towards the tool bit. The anvil imparts axial impacts to the tool bit.

Abstract: A powered fastener driver includes a driver blade movable from a top-dead-center (TDC) position to a bottom-dead-center (BDC) position for driving a fastener into a workpiece and a drive unit for providing torque to move the driver blade from the BDC position toward the TDC position. A rotary lifter is engageable with the driver blade and configured to receive torque from the drive unit for returning the driver blade from the BDC position toward the TDC position. The lifter has a body, a drive pin coupled to the body, and a roller positioned on the drive pin. The roller includes an engagement section configured to receive an end portion of a tooth of the driver blade. The lifter includes a means for aligning the engagement section with the end portion of the tooth on the driver blade to facilitate meshing between the end portion and the roller.

Abstract: A blade clamp, for use with a power tool having a reciprocating spindle, includes a cover rotatably coupled to the spindle and a detent received within a bore of the spindle. The detent is movable in a radial direction relative to a longitudinal axis of the spindle to adjust the blade clamp between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. The cover is rotatable between a first rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with the locked configuration, and a second rotational position relative to the spindle coinciding with the unlocked configuration. The blade clamp further includes a sleeve in which the detent is slidably received. The sleeve includes a non-corrosive material for inhibiting corrosion of the detent.
