Abstract: A system and method for power tool communication is provided. In particular, a gateway device communicates in parallel with a plurality of power tools. The gateway device may establish communication links with a plurality of power tools, each communication link associated with a power tool, with a transceiver-converter pair of a plurality of transceiver-converter pairs, and with a frequency channel of a plurality of frequency channels. The gateway device may further communicate with each of the power tools in parallel over the communication links, wherein the communication with each respective power tool of the plurality of power tools occurs with the transceiver-converter pair and frequency channel associated with the respective power tool. In some examples, the gateway device establishes a link and communicates with the plurality of power tools using a shared transceiver-converter pair.

Abstract: Systems and methods for configuring, with an external device, a power distribution box having priority disconnects. The power distribution box includes a housing portion and a base portion elevating the housing portion. The power distribution box receives power from an external power source and distributes the power to a plurality of alternating current (AC) output receptacles. The power distribution box further includes an antenna and a power disconnect controller coupled to the antenna to communicate with and be configured by an external device, such as a smart phone, tablet, or laptop computer. Using the external device, a user can configure the priority level and mode of the AC output receptacles. In the case of high current, the power distribution box will disconnect receptacles in accordance with the priority level and mode configuration provided by the external device.

Abstract: A chainsaw includes a housing including a handle housing portion, a motor housing portion, and a drive housing portion. The handle housing portion has a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis defining a first axis. A motor includes an output shaft having a longitudinal axis that defines a second axis. The chainsaw also includes a driven gear coupled to the output shaft, a sprocket coupled to the driven gear such that rotation of the driven gear rotates the sprocket, and a guide bar extending from the drive housing portion and having a longitudinal axis that defines a third axis of the chainsaw. The first and second axes define an included angle less than 75 degrees, the second and third axes define a second included angle between 110 degrees and 130 degrees, and the first and third axes define an external angle between 150 degrees and 170 degrees.

Abstract: One embodiment provides an electrical circuit coupled to an alternator. The electrical circuit includes a rotor and stator coils. The electrical circuit is configured to receive, at a point when an engine is operating, an electrical current that is induced in the stator coils by rotation of the rotor and charge a battery pack with the electrical current and inhibit generation of a spark by the engine while the alternator is powered by the battery pack until a speed of the alternator is greater than a threshold. The electrical circuit is further configured to power the alternator, at a point when the engine is not operating, with electrical current supplied by the battery pack coupled to a battery connector to start the engine.

Abstract: System and method for a portable propane-fueled battery charger. One system includes a battery charger including a propane fuel line and an engine including an output shaft. The engine is configured to receive propane via the propane fuel line and rotationally drive the output shaft. The battery charger further includes an alternator including a rotor and stator coils. The output shaft is mechanically coupled to the rotor, and the rotor is rotationally driven by the output shaft. An electrical current is induced in the stator coils by rotation of the rotor. The battery charger further includes an electrical circuit that receives the electrical current and is configured to determine when a battery pack is coupled to a battery connector, and charge the battery pack.

In response to activation input, the power tool controls a motor for driving power tool operation and wirelessly transmits a control signal to a vacuum. In response to receiving the control signal, the vacuum controls a motor for driving operation of the vacuum. The power tool, the vacuum, or both include a wireless communication pairing butting for paring the power tool and the vacuum. Abstract: A hand-held knockout driver includes a main housing having a handle portion, a motor positioned within the main housing, a pump assembly driven by the motor, and a secondary housing coupled to the main housing and defining a bore therein. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a working piston moveable within the bore from a rest position to an actuated position to define a piston throw distance therebetween. The hand-held knockout driver also includes a draw stud coupled to the working piston, a die coupled to the secondary housing, and a punch coupled to the draw stud opposite the working piston for movement therewith relative to the die. The die has a depth greater than the piston throw distance.
