摘要: A receiver for combining multiple data streams at a destination device, where at least one of the multiple data streams may be a redundant data stream sent intermittently to a destination device. The redundant data stream may be sent intermittently depending on the availability of resources available to a source device. Based on monitoring of quality of service (QoS) parameters of an original data stream on the uplink, a base station functioning as an auxiliary receiver may be intermittently activated to intercept the data stream as a redundant data stream. The auxiliary receiver may then send the redundant data stream to the destination device to it QoS for the original data stream. The receiver may receive the data stream alone, or receive both of the redundant second data stream and the original data stream simultaneously, on an intermittent basis to improve QoS for the original data stream.

摘要: Multiplexed unequal error protection for wireless networks is disclosed. A device may determine reliability associated with a first subcarrier of a channel including the first subcarrier and at least one second subcarrier. The reliability of the first subcarrier may be determined based on the position of the first subcarrier relative to each at least one second subcarrier. High priority data may be assigned to the first subcarrier for transmission if the first subcarrier is determined to have a higher reliability than the at least one second subcarrier. For example, the channel may be an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) channel and higher reliability may be associated with a first subcarrier that is in a middle position of the plurality of subcarriers within the OFDM channel. In another example, higher reliability may be associated with a first OFDM subcarrier that is adjacent to an unused OFDM channel bandwidth.

摘要: An initial data center is selected to host an online conference. This data center can be selected based on the geographical locations of the participants. Typically, the data center closest to the centroid of the participants is selected. During (or before) the conference call, an ‘effective’ centroid is calculated based on effective distances. Effective distances are based on a combination of the physical distance between a participant and a data center, and an effective distance factor (or weighting) that is based on one or more of the participant's device/driver type, the participant's network type, the participant's connection type, and a participant weighting factor.

摘要: Network telephony anomaly detection systems are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a network telephony anomaly service includes monitoring endpoint identities associated with communication sessions occurring between user endpoints in a network telephony platform, and processing the endpoint identities to generate a digital image that distributes indicators of the endpoint identities into the digital image according to at least spatial relationships established among the endpoint identities. The method also includes detecting anomalies among the communication sessions according to at least the spatial relationships rendered in the digital image.

摘要: The embodiments provide cryptography keys for communicating devices that are based on information known only to the devices. Each device determines the information without communicating key information related to the key with the other. In an implementation, a first device sends a first signal to a second device, the second device loops back the first signal to the first device as a second signal, and the first device generates a first key based on error information from the second signal. Also, the second device sends a third signal to the first device, the first device loops back the third signal to the first device as a fourth signal, and the second device generates a second key based on error information from the fourth signal. The first device and second device then encrypt and decrypt communications between the first device and second device using the first key and second key.

摘要: A forced failure mode may be activated if a predetermined number of incorrect passwords are received at an apparatus. In forced failure mode, the apparatus determines if a forced failure is to be performed in response to a received password. If a forced failure is to be performed, an access failure is forced. When subsequent passwords are received the determine operation is repeated. When it is determined that a forced failure is not to be performed in response to a password entry, access may be granted if the password is correct, or denied if the password is incorrect. The apparatus may then leave forced failure mode or repeat forced failure mode. The apparatus may be configured in a mobile device and the access attempted may be unlocking of the device. The apparatus may also be configured in a network server and the access attempted may be network access.

摘要: An initial data center is selected to host the online conference. This data center can be selected based on the locations of the participants, a weighting (or ‘priority’) of the participants, or a combination of the two (e.g., locations that are weighted by the participant's priority.) Typically, the data center closest to the centroid (i.e., geometric center, or ‘center of mass’) of the participants is selected. In anticipation that participants will join and/or leaver the conference, a list is calculated that each possible change to a respective data center that will be selected if that change occurs. This list may be distributed to the data centers that, if selected, would host the online conference.

摘要: Information bits may be superimposed onto a transmitted image while reducing or minimizing the effects of the superimposed information bits on the transmitted image signal's frequency spectrum or image quality. A placement of superimposed information bits onto pixels of an image signal to be transmitted may be determined by testing a placement functions to determine whether the spectrum and/or image quality of the image signal with the superimposed information bits placed according to a placement function meets system criteria. Successive placement functions may he tested until an acceptable placement function is found. The information bits may be superimposed onto complete pixels or the information bits may be superimposed onto one or more least significant bits (LSBs) of each of the selected pixels. A transmitter may transmit superimposition information associated with a transmitted image to a receiver. A receiver may use the superimposition information to extract the information bits.

摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed by which a device in a wireless network may determine and reduce interference when using channels in restricted frequency bands and when other networks may be transmitting in the same restricted frequency. The wireless network may be a Wi-Fi system utilizing channels/frequencies in the television white space. Receivers, such as a client device and access point (AP), may determine information on one or more interfering signals and utilize the information to reduce or cancel the interference caused by the interfering signals generated by a second network. The information may be parameters or information on the structure of the interfering signal, and may be determined by retrieving stored cache information, receiving information on a beacon signal or sampling an interfering signal. The interference cancellation may be performed by joint demodulation or parallel interference cancellation.
