Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure includes methods, systems, and computer-readable media for receiving, at the UE, a random access response including a first signal via a first physical channel and a second signal via a second physical channel from a base station (BS), generating a connection request based on the random access response, estimating a carrier to interference plus noise ratio (CINR) of a random-access channel based on at least one the first signal or the second signal, and sending a message including the CINR and the connection request to the BS in response to the random access response.

Abstract: A resynchronization signal (RSS) may extend across multiple physical resource blocks (PRBs) or subframes, which may cause the RRS to be scheduled to overlap with other downlink transmissions. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for management of RSS and one or more other transmission types that may have overlapping wireless resources with the RSS. If one or more other downlink transmissions are scheduled for resources that overlap with resources scheduled for an RSS transmission, the UE may receive the RSS transmission or the one or more other downlink transmissions, or a combination thereof, based on a prioritization of the transmission types of the one or more other downlink transmissions relative to RSS. The RSS transmission or the one or more other transmissions may be delayed, dropped, punctured, or rate-matched when the RSS transmission and the one or more other downlink transmissions conflict.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and systems for resource selection supporting user equipment (UE)-shared multicast feedback. In some systems, a UE and a base station may support multicast communications. The base station may configure a set of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources that the UE may use for multicast feedback messages. The base station may transmit an indication of the set of PUCCH resources to the UE, and the UE may determine to use a PUCCH resource of the set of PUCCH resources based on one or more indications from the base station. The UE may fail to receive a multicast message from the base station and may transmit a UE-shared negative acknowledgment (NACK) feedback message. The base station may re-transmit the multicast message according to a set of transmission parameters that is based on which PUCCH resource was used by one or more UEs for multicast NACK feedback.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A set of uplink control channel resources that are configured for acknowledgment transmissions may be shared among user equipments (UEs) that are enabled to receive multicast communications. Each of the shared set of uplink control channel resources may be associated with set(s) of channel state information. UEs may measure a multicast channel to determine channel state information for the multicast channel. After failing to receive a multicast transmission, UEs may transmit an acknowledgment feedback message over one of the shared uplink control channel resources that is associated with the set of channel state information determined by the UE. A base station that receives the acknowledgment feedback message may transmit a multicast retransmission for the UEs using transmission parameters that are adapted for the set(s) of channel state information associated with the occupied uplink control channel resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, such as a user equipment (UE) may receive, in an active duration of a multicast discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle, downlink control information indicating resources of a downlink data channel for a multicast message for a plurality of UE. The UE may monitor the indicated resources for the multicast message, as well as transmit, based on the monitoring the indicated resources, a feedback message corresponding to the multicast message. The UE may initiate a multicast feedback timer based on the monitoring the indicated resources for the multicast message, the multicast feedback timer indicating a time for monitoring for a retransmission of the multicast message. The multicast feedback timer may be different than a unicast feedback timer associated with unicast messages for the UE. In some examples, the UE may initiate a multicast retransmission timer following the multicast feedback timer. The multicast retransmission timer may be different than a unicast retransmission timer associated with the unicast messages.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first synchronization signal for synchronizing with a cell, the first synchronization signal transmitted at a first periodicity by a base station serving the cell. The UE may then receive, subsequent to the synchronizing, a second synchronization signal for resynchronizing with the cell. In some cases, the second synchronization signal may be transmitted by the base station according to a second periodicity that is different from the first periodicity. In some cases, the second synchronization signal may include a plurality of repetitions of a first sequence that is based at least in part on a cell identifier of the cell. The UE may communicate over the cell with the base station based at least in part on the resynchronizing.

Abstract: The described techniques relate to methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support narrowband reference signal (NRS) configuration for non-anchor carriers. Generally, the described techniques provide for increasing the length of an NRS scrambling sequence for non-anchor carriers. For example, the NRS scrambling sequence initialization equation may be a function of system frame number. A base station may transmit to a user equipment (UE) a non-anchor carrier configuration indicating that the NRS scrambling sequence is extended with respect to other NRS scrambling sequences. For example, the non-anchor carrier configuration may indicate the scrambling sequence initialization for the NRS. In some examples, the length of the NRS scrambling sequence is increased by extending the number of possible initializations. The base station and UE may communicate based on the extended length of the NRS scrambling sequence for non-anchor carriers of the NRS.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit uplink transmissions according to a frequency hopping pattern. The UE may identify that a first set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to a base station by a first set of resources (e.g., a first set of slots, a first set of frequency resources) as indicated by the frequency hopping pattern. The UE may further identify, based on the frequency hopping pattern, that a second set of uplink transmissions are to be transmitted to the base station by a second set of resources (e.g., a second set of slots, a second set of frequency resources). The first set of slots and the second set of slots may each include more than one slot. Additionally, the first and second set of resources may be within a same bandwidth part or in different bandwidth parts.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, a base station, a user equipment (UE), and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The base station may encode a wakeup signal so that a preamble of the wakeup signal indicates whether the wakeup signal is relevant to the UE. The UE may select a technique for detecting the wakeup signal based at least in part on a partial, full, or no synchronization. Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a plurality of master information blocks (MIBs) on a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NPBCH). The UE may determine an NPBCH signal power based at least in part on the plurality of MIBs. The UE may estimate a narrowband reference signal received power (NRSRP) parameter based at least in part on the NPBCH signal power. In some aspects, a base station may determine whether to enable or disable NPBCH-based estimates of an NRSRP parameter for a UE. The base station may transmit, to the UE, an indication of whether NPBCH-based estimates of the NRSRP parameter are enabled or disabled for the UE based at least in part on the determination.
