    摘要： Disclosed are apparatus and methods for facilitating online user polling over a computer network. In general, a particular web property is a web service or site that is related to a particular type of subject matter or service. A user of a particular web property can select a polling feature and initiate a query regarding a particular subject matter that is related to such particular web property. A set of online users-to-be-polled may then be determined so that these users-to-be-polled are likely to have knowledge (or have access to knowledge) regarding such subject matter about which a query has been initiated. At least some of the determined users-to-be-polled are not currently accessing the particular web property or subject matter, e.g., may be accessing a different web property. Since the users-to-be-polled can include both users who are and are not accessing the particular web property of the originating query, the determined users-to-be-polled can form a diverse set of online users who can provide helpful information regarding the particular query. This determined set of online users is then polled with the query initiated by the querying user, and the one or more answers provided by such polled users are then provided to the querying user.

    摘要： An in-line formed, non-laminated web is suitable for use as a composite fluid distribution and fluid retention layer in a disposable absorbent article. The web can be formed by selective deposition of airlaid materials including absorbents, such as pulp and superabsorbents, together with binder fibers. The web so constructed will have a plurality of intermingled lower basis weight areas and higher basis weight areas coexisting and distributed in at least a central region of the web, the alternations crossing the X axis or Y axis, or both, of the web, with the higher basis weight areas being a greater thickness in the Z-direction than the lower basis weight areas. The web so constructed will further have no discrete material boundaries between the lower basis weight stripes and the higher basis weight stripes. Further the necessity of later processing on the web to achieve a ridged structure is removed and the fibers will remain whole and undisturbed. The selective vacuum manipulation in conjunction with multiple fiber deposition heads, and appropriate timing of fiber addition therefrom, will yield a variety of useful composite webs having multiple layers thereby forming an economical single web which may be easily incorporated into an absorbent garment or article.

    摘要： An absorbent article facilitating sensing the presence of a body exudate in the absorbent article includes an absorbent member; a sensor coil disposed on or in the article; and an electrical double-layer capacitor disposed on or in the article and in electrical communication with the sensor coil, wherein the capacitor is in fluid communication with the absorbent member. An absorbent article system also includes a detector circuit including an exciter coil configured for electromagnetic communication with the sensor coil, and sensor electronics configured to indicate the presence of a body exudate based on changes in the electromagnetic communication between the exciter coil and the sensor coil.
