    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services.A method for a terminal to receive a service through different wireless communication systems is provided. The method includes identifying whether a request for use of a second wireless communication system that uses a second band is sensed with respect to the terminal that performs communications with a base station of a first wireless communication system through a first band and the second band, when the request for use of the second wireless communication system is sensed, transmitting a message including information indicating a change of user equipment (UE) capability information, and reporting the changed UE capability information based on the message.

A cell selection/re-selection method and an apparatus adapted thereto is provided. The cell selection method of a terminal includes: receiving, from a base station, first maximum power information, PEMAX1 and second maximum power information, PEMAX2, related to maximum transmission power levels of the terminal on the uplink; calculating a compensation parameter, Pcompensation, related to uplink transmission power of the terminal, using the first maximum power information and the second maximum power information; calculating a cell selection reception level value, Srxlev, using the compensation parameter; and selecting a cell based on the calculated cell selection reception level value.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication system and technique that may be applied to intelligent services based on a 5G communication technology and an IoT-related technology. The present disclosure provides a method for data transmission of a terminal in a wireless communication systemthat includes inputting a packet data convergence protocol packet data unit (PDCP PDU) output from a PDCP entity to a first radio link control (RLC) entity and a second RLC entity. The method also includes inputting a first radio link control packet data unit (RLC PDU) output from the first RLC entity and a second RLC PDU output from the second RLC entity to a medium access control (MAC) entity and transmitting a medium access control packet data unit (MAC PDU) output from the MAC entity through a first physical layer (PHY) entity and a second physical layer entity.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication technique and system for combining IoT technologies with 5G communication systems to support a higher data rate after 4G communication systems. The present disclosure can be applied to intelligent services based on 5G communication technologies and IoT-related technologies such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail business, and security and safety. Provided are is a method and apparatus for supporting the licensed-assisted access (LAA) technology in a wireless communication system. The method for a user equipment (UE) may include: sending a first report message containing information on whether the LAA technology is supported to a base station (ENB) supporting a first communication technology; detecting usage of a second communication technology in a first band of the unlicensed spectrum; and sending, upon detecting usage of the second communication technology in the first band, a second report message containing information on usage of the second communication technology to the ENB.
