摘要： A liquid crystal display includes a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal composition sealed between the substrates. The liquid crystal composition has a twist angle set within a range of 180-300 degrees and a retardation set within a range of 0.45-0.7, wherein when an electric field is applied, the liquid crystal display is in a dark state, while when the electric field is not applied, the liquid crystal display is in a bright state. A filter is laminated on the outside of the substrates, and it has a hue complementary to that of an image color of the liquid crystal display in the bright state.

摘要： A liquid crystal device comprising a liquid crystal cell in which a ferroelectric liquid crystal are put between two sheets transparent substrates each formed with a transparent electrode to the inside thereof with the peripheral edges of the transparent substrates being sealed, a polymer film having a birefringent property appended on one side of the liquid crystal cell and two polarizing plates disposed on both sides of the liquid crystal cell and such that the polarizing directions thereof are in perpendicular to or in parallel with each other. Coloring for the transmission light is suppressed, by which the display quality can be improved.

摘要： An illuminance sensor is formed as a current output type sensor that outputs a current which increases or decreases in an analog manner corresponding to an increasing or decreasing change of the illuminance. A light-emitting device is connected with a detection resistor that detects a current flowing through a light-emitting device. A driving control circuit has a light-emitting device driver that outputs to the light-emitting device a voltage for holding a voltage, which is obtained when a current flowing through the light-emitting device and a current detected by the illuminance sensor flows through the detection resistor, in a predetermined value all the time. The light-emitting device emits a large amount of light in a dark place and emits a small amount of light in a bright place.
