摘要: A transflective LCD device and a method of forming the same are proposed. The transflective LCD includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a first alignment film, a second alignment film and a liquid crystal layer. The first substrate and the second substrate are divided into a transmissive area and a reflective area, in which areas of the first alignment film and the second alignment film are configured respectively by different aligning angles. The liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer corresponding to the transmissive area and the reflective area are tilted by different pretilt angles. Therefore, light going one-way through the liquid crystal layer corresponding to the transmissive area generates the same phase retardation as making a round-trip through the liquid crystal layer corresponding to the reflective area.

摘要: The invention provides a transflective LCD, comprising an LCD panel and a backlight disposed below the LCD panel; the LCD panel comprising a plurality of interleaved transmissive regions and reflective regions; the backlight comprising: a backlight substrate, and a plurality of micro light-emitting diodes (uLED) arrays disposed on backlight substrate; the plurality of uLED arrays being distributed correspondingly on backlight substrate below the plurality of transmissive regions of the LCD panel, the backlight providing backlighting to the plurality of transmissive regions of LCD panel through the plurality of uLED arrays to ensure the light from backlight only propagates and emits from the projection area of transmissive regions and not wasted on reflective regions. As such, the waste of backlight on reflective regions is avoided and the utilization and light efficiency are improved, leading to lower energy consumption of the transflective LCD, saving energy and improving endurance of the display.

摘要: A display device including a display module and an eyepiece lens is provided. A user can view an image realized by the display module through the eyepiece lens. In the display play according to the present disclosure, a path of a light moving from the display module to the eyepiece lens may be increased by a half-mirror and a reflective polarizing plate which are located between the display module and the eyepiece lens. Thus, in the display device according to the present disclosure, the overall thickness may be decreased without degrading the quality of the image realized by the display module.

摘要: A display device that is suitable for high definition and a method for manufacturing thereof are provided. The display device includes a reflective liquid crystal element. A liquid crystal layer has a first portion overlapping with a reflective electrode that reflects visible light and blocks ultraviolet light, and a second portion overlapping with a region between two adjacent reflective electrodes. The first portion contains a monomer and liquid crystal and the second portion contains a polymer obtained by polymerization of the monomer. In the second portion, the polymer constitutes the framework of a columnar partition wall which bonds a pair of substrates to each other. The partition wall can be formed in a self-aligned manner by using the reflective electrode as a light-blocking mask at the irradiation with light. The polymer is positioned to fit a depression portion of an insulating layer over which the reflective electrode is provided.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to apply a sufficient electrical field to a liquid crystal material in a horizontal electrical field liquid crystal display device typified by an FFS type. In a horizontal electrical field liquid crystal display, an electrical field is applied to a liquid crystal material right above a common electrode and a pixel electrode using plural pairs of electrodes rather than one pair of electrodes. One pair of electrodes includes a comb-shaped common electrode and a comb-shaped pixel electrode. Another pair of electrodes includes a common electrode provided in a pixel portion and the comb-shaped pixel electrode.
