摘要: A magnetic recording element comprising a magnetic recording layer on a surface of a synthetic resin support and an antistatic layer on the opposite surface of said synthetic resin support, wherein said antistatic layer comprises a powder of a white or light-colored pigment and a powder of a carbon type electrically conductive substance in a binder, said pigment powder being substantially all in the outer surface portion of said antistatic layer and said electrically conductive powder being substantially all in the portion of said antistatic layer adjacent said support is disclosed.

摘要: A magnetic recording member comprising a non-magnetic support and two or more magnetic layers provided on the non-magnetic support and composed mainly of a ferromagnetic fine powder and a binder. The upper layer of the magnetic layers has a dry thickness of about 0.3 to about 2.5 .mu.m and the ferromagnetic fine powder contained in the upper layer is ferromagnetic iron oxide having an APP value of not more than about 1.0 and a coercive force of about 300 to about 500 Oe.

摘要: A magnetic metal deposition material contained in a hearth is heated and evaporated in a vacuum to form a flow of vapor, which is then ionized and converged toward a predetermined deposition surface of a flexible substrate. The flexible substrate is moved obliquely downwardly along a convex course by sliding contact with the curved surface of a fixed curved guiding body between a pair of guide rollers located at different heights above the hearth. The fixed curved guiding body communicates with a coolant source for cooling the substrate moving in contact therewith and may be provided with oscillators. Thus a thin film of the magnetic metal is deposited on the convex surface of the substrate.

摘要: An apparatus for vacuum evaporating magnetic material onto a base. Cylindrical cans are disposed parallel to one another and rotated either in the same or opposite directions. A tape-shaped base is wound around the cans passing from an upper vacuum chamber to a lower vacuum chamber. A vacuum evaporation source is positioned in the lower chamber and directed to the tape-shaped base in a predetermined area on both sides of a gap between the cans or a line contact area between the cans.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic flexible substrate, a magnetic layer provided on the surface of the substrate and containing ferromagnetic grains dispersed in a binder, and a back layer provided on the back surface of the substrate. The magnetic recording medium has a stiffness (S.sub.TD) of 6.0 or less. The friction coefficient (.mu..sub.B) of the back layer surface with respect to the axial direction of a loading post in a video tape recorder is controlled to satisfy the condition:0.ltoreq..mu..sub.B .ltoreq.0.1S.sub.TD -0.05so as to make the magnetic recording medium highly resistant to damage due to movement in a video tape recorder.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium is disclosed which is comprised of a nonmagnetic support base having a magnetic layer disposed on one surface. A back coating is disposed on the opposite surface of the support base in order to provide the magnetic recording medium with greater durability without increasing the coefficient of friction. The back coating is comprised of a binder having inorganic particles dispersed therein, the inorganic particles including SnO.sub.2 particles having an average size of about 0.01 to about 0.8.mu.. The back coating does not reduce the S/N ratio of the recording medium.

摘要: An elastic calender roll for use in a super calender for magnetic tape is disclosed, which comprises a roll core and a roll portion which is composed of a fibrous material molded with a plastic material.
