    摘要: A process for producing a magnetic recording medium is disclosed. The process involves coating a non-magnetic base with magnetic coating solution containing fine ferromagnetic particles and a binder comprising nitrocellulose, polyol and an isocyanate having at least two isocyanato groups. In the process, the web having 0.3 to 3 wt % of the residual solvent in the magnetic layer is calendered, and the calendered web is then dried thoroughly.

    摘要: The perpendicular magnetic orientation of a magnetic layer containing platelet-form ferromagnetic particles coated on a web support is effectively performed by passing a web having thereon the coated magnetic layer in an undried state through a magnetic field formed by plural pairs of opposite pole type magnets disposed in the travelling direction of the web with a gap between adjacent pairs of magnets, while supplying drying air through each gap onto the surface of the travelling web to substantially complete the drying of the coated layer while the web is in the magnetic field. A partition may be inserted in each gap so that the lower end of the partition is close to the upper surface of the travelling web to divide the gap into a front section and a back section, and the drying air may be passed through these sections.

    摘要: A process for forming a vapor-deposited thin layer of organic material is disclosed. The process involves placing organic material on a support base within a vacuum chamber and providing a heat source in the vicinity of the organic material. A second support base is then provided within the vacuum chamber and heat is applied to the organic material at a temperature which causes the organic material to form vapors. The vapors are vapor-deposited on the second support base forming the thin layer of organic material. It is generally desirable to move both of the support bases during the vapor deposition process allowing the formation of a continuous uniform thin layer of organic material.
