摘要： A fixing unit includes a belt module that has a belt member stretched around a rotary roll and a stretching roll, the belt module transporting a recording medium, and a pressing member that is disposed to press the belt module and forming a nip portion between the belt module and the pressing member. The belt module is provided with a peeling member disposed downstream and spaced from the nip portion in a transporting direction of the recording medium, the peeling member supporting the belt member from inside thereof and bending a traveling direction of the belt member.

摘要： A power-supply control device includes a power-supply control section, a first detection section that detects whether or not a body capable of movement is moving, a second detection section that detects whether or not the body capable of movement exists, and an instruction section. The power-supply control section receives supply of power from a mains power source section, and selectively sets a power supply mode, in which power is supplied to a processing section, and a power saving mode, in which supply of power to the processing section is stopped. The first and second detection sections and the instruction section are caused to operate at least in the power saving mode. The instruction section provides, for the power-supply control section, an instruction for switching between the power supply mode and the power saving mode.

摘要： A fixing device includes a fixing unit, a power controller, a pressure applying unit, and a timing controller. The fixing unit fixes toner onto a recording medium transported in a determined transport direction, by using heat generated by a heat generator. The power controller controls supply of power for heating the fixing unit. The pressure applying unit applies pressure to the recording medium in a nip part formed between the pressure applying unit and the fixing unit. The timing controller controls the power controller to start supply of the power at a time which is a determined time period prior to an arrival time at which a leading edge of the recording medium in the transport direction arrives at the nip part.

摘要： A fixing device includes a magnetic-field-producing member producing an alternating-current magnetic field, a fixing belt that is heated by electromagnetic induction caused by the alternating-current magnetic field and fixes toner on a recording material, and a pressure applying member pressed against the fixing belt and forming a press-fixing part therebetween through which the recording material having an unfixed image is transported. The fixing belt includes a metal body that is a stack of at least three layers including a base layer and a protective layer both made of metal, and a conductive layer provided between the base layer and the protective layer and to be heated by electromagnetic induction. In a section of the fixing belt taken in a thickness direction, the metal body has its neutral axis on a side of the protective layer with respect to a thickness center line thereof and in the protective layer.

摘要： A power supply control device including a mode switching controller, a first power supply section, a second power supply section, a third power supply section, a wiring system opening and closing unit and a controller. During the sleep mode, the first power supply section continues to supply power to a specific control system, the second power supply section shuts off its supply of power, and the third power supply section supplies power to the specific control system by a separate system to the specific control system. The wiring system opening/closing unit sets a power supply wiring system of the commercial power source to an open state or a closed state. When the third power supply section is supplying power during the sleep mode, the controller controls the wiring system opening and closing unit and sets the power supply wiring system of the commercial power supply to the open state.
