摘要: A differential transformer includes a primary coil for excitation and first and second secondary coils for detection which can be wound up on an outer surface of a bobbin made of a non-magnetic substance. In the bobbin, i.e., in a differential coil composed of the primary coil and the first and second secondary coils, a core is movably inserted in an axial direction thereof and is made of a magnetic substance. In the differential transformer, when AC current is applied on the primary coil, an induced voltage corresponding to a relative displacement between the core and the differential coil is generated, so that a size of a measured member can be measured by detecting the induced voltage. In the first and second secondary coils, a compound conducting wire is used, which includes two conducting wires which are different from each other in forms of a thermal coefficient of resistivity and are connected by a predetermined rate with regard to their length. Therefore, it is provided that the differential transformer can obtain a detection value corresponding to the relative displacement between the core and the differential coil regardless of a change of the ambient temperature.

摘要: An air bag controlling apparatus for controlling inflation of an air bag for a motor vehicle and adapted to cooperate with (i) an inflator which provides said air bag with compressed gas when ignited by an igniter, and (ii) an acceleration sensor which generates an appropriate deceleration signal as a function of the vehicle's deceleration. The apparatus comprises a threshold value storage for storing a threshold value used in determining whether the inflator will be ignited and a calculator for calculating a displacement amount of the vehicle. A waveform evaluator evaluates the waveform of the deceleration signal to determine whether an initial period for which the deceleration has a positive value continues for a predetermined interval of time after a predetermined deceleration is detected. A threshold value corrector corrects the threshold value stored in the threshold value storage when the waveform evaluator determines that the initial period for which the deceleration has a positive value has continued for the predetermined interval of time. A discriminator determines whether the displacement amount calculated by the calculating means is greater than the corrected threshold value. Finally, a signal output generator outputs the ignition signal to the inflator so that the inflator is ignited and the air bag is inflated when the discriminator determines that the displacement amount calculated by the calculator is greater than the corrected threshold value.

摘要: In a sheet conveying apparatus having a jam detecting means, there are provided an accommodating portion for jam treatment and a conveyance controlling means to accommodate sheets on a conveyance path into said portion, enabling all the sheets on the path to be gathered in one place and rendering the removal treatment easier. In another aspect of this invention, in case of jam occurrence, the sheets being conveyed are temporarily accommodated in the standby accommodating portion for discharge and then rejected outside the apparatus after jam return, while an image forming portion carrying out the image formation onto the sheets to be accommodated so that they can be discharged as regular output sheets, and image formation being prohibited when the sheets are discharged, resulting in that the image previously formed on the sheets is not to be disturbed.
