    摘要： A universal space saving flatbed scanner stand that has a scanner platform section and a counterweight platform section which are connected by a hinge that permits the two sections to be at approximately 180 degree angle or 90 degree angle with respect to each other. The flatbed scanner stand permits a desktop to be extended to allow space for a flatbed scanner. The flatbed scanner may be used when the flatbed scanner stand is in the fully extended (180 degree) position. Some scanners may be used when the flatbed scanner stand is in the folded-up (90 degree) position. Alternatively, when the flatbed scanner is not being used, the flatbed scanner stand may be in the folded-up (90 degree) position, in which the flatbed scanner takes-up the space of a sheetfeed scanner. A CPU box, monitor, printer or other sufficiently heavy object may be positioned on the counterweight platform in order to counter the weight of the flatbed scanner on the scanner platform section of the scanner stand. The scanner stand may also include a cabling hole for the scanner power cable and other cables to be threaded through.

    摘要： A mechanism for dual-height tables, counters, or the like, in which the top lifts and pivots upward and outward on pairs of links attached to the top and to link housings attached to the table or counter base. Each pair of links comprises a pivot link and a locking link. The pivot link has holes at each end which ride on pins or the like attached to a bracket on the top and the pivot link housing on the bottom. The locking link is similarly arranged at the top, with a hole for a pin attached to a bracket. The bottom end of the locking link has an elongated slot, through which a pin is inserted to fasten the locking link to the locking link housing. When the top is in the lowered position, the pin is in the end of the slot closest to the end of the locking link. As the top is raised, both links pivot on the pins in the link housings. When the top has reached its most-forward pivot position, the locking link rests on a forward stop. The locking link is then slid downward into a locking pocket in its housing, the pin moving upward in the slot until it rests on the top of the slot and the top of the table is horizontal. At this point the top is rigidly supported and locked in the forward/upward position.

    摘要： A desk top extension device which readily increases the work area of a desk without need for any modification to the desk is structured for being used in conjunction with a partially opened uppermost desk drawer and is composed, in essence, of a substantially rectangularly shaped base member and an interconnection system composed of an extension member and an abutment member connected thereto. In operation, the topmost desk drawer is partly pulled out and the extension member is inserted into the desk drawer on an angle then horizontally oriented so that the abutment member is located within the desk drawer abutably against the desk frame. Thusly, the base member rests upon the front top edge of the drawer and the abutment member holds the desk top extension device from tipping and moving outwardly from the desk. A book rest member may be connected with the base member for holding reading material in a comfortable orientation for reading thereof by the desk user.

    摘要： A work top is height adjustable and may tilt about a horizontal axis near the front edge. The work top may be mounted on an open office beam system or an office screen or partition in cantilever fashion or it may be a free standing unit. The work top is mounted for horizontal sliding movement and tilting on a horizontally extending undercarriage. The undercarriage includes an inclined strut journalled for sliding movement in a normally fixed inclined strut. A cable reeving system interconnects the work top and fixed inclined strut to maintain the work top in the same horizontal position regardless of its elevation. One or more tension springs, the tension of which may be adjusted, interconnect the under carriage and work top to counterbalance the weight of the work top and what may be positioned thereon such as a computer. A releasable latch locks the work top to the under carriage so that the work top may be locked in its height adjusted position. When the latch is released a light pull or push on the under carriage adjusts the work top to the desired height within its range of adjustment.
