摘要: Provided is a cleaning device that can reduce maintenance-time while injecting a cleaning solution into a gap between head modules so that the cleaning solution or the like is not sucked into an inkjet head. The position of the inkjet head relative to a spray-nozzle is moved in one direction. When relative movement is performed, the relative movement is temporarily stopped or moving speed of the relative movement is reduced at a position where the gap between the head modules faces at least the spray-nozzle. The cleaning solution is sprayed to the gap at a time when the relative movement is temporarily stopped or when the moving speed of the relative movement is reduced. A removing member removing the cleaning solution present in the gap, is provided at a position separated from the spray-nozzle in the one direction by a distance of n times a pitch of the gaps.

摘要: An ink-jet recording apparatus includes a recording head having a plurality of nozzles through which an ink composition containing an inorganic pigment is ejected, a nozzle surface having nozzle orifices, and a liquid-repellent film disposed on the nozzle surface; an absorbing member that absorbs the ink composition from the nozzle orifices and the nozzle surface; and an actuating mechanism including a pressing member that presses the absorbing member and the nozzle surface relative to each other with a force of 50 to 500 gf. The actuating mechanism moves at least one of the absorbing member and the recording head relative to the other to perform a cleaning operation in which the ink composition is removed from the nozzle surface with the absorbing member. The absorbing member contains an impregnation liquid during the cleaning operation.

The head cleaning apparatus further has a removing unit that removes dirt and/or ink stain from the ink discharging surface while the ink discharging surface is being immersed in the cleaning liquid in the cleaning liquid reserving tank, and a wiper that wipes off the cleaning liquid left on the ink discharging surface after the removal of dirt and/or ink stain by the removing unit. The removing unit and the wiper are both disposed in the cleaning liquid reserving tank.
