摘要: A motorcycle [1; 50] having a front wheel [23] and a rear wheel [5] includes a motorcycle body [4, 2] including an engine [2], the engine [2] having an engine body [6] and a cylinder [6] disposed on a rear portion of the engine body [6] to define a space [S] forwardly of the cylinder [7] and forwardly and upwardly of the engine body [6]. Upper and lower front swing arms [19, 20] extend horizontally and forwardly from the motorcycle body [4, 2] substantially parallel to each other, the front wheel [23] being operatively supported on front portions of the upper and lower front swing arms [19, 20]. The upper and lower front swing arms [19, 20] have rear portions [19a, 19b, 20a, 20b] pivotally mounted on the motorcycle body [4, 2] for vertical swinging movement with respect thereto. The rear portions [19a, 19b] of the upper front swing arm [19] are pivotally mounted on the motorcycle body [4, 2] within the space [S]. The rear portions [20a, 20b] of at least one of the upper and lower front swing arms [19, 20] are angularly movably mounted on a support shaft [22] extending transversely of the motorcycle, each of the opposite ends of the support shaft [22] being sandwiched between a portion [21] of the motorcycle body [4, 2] having an upper surface [41, 42] and a holder [43] attached to the upper surface [41, 42] of the portion [21].

摘要: A front suspension for a vehicle having a pair of swing arms and steering arm. The swing arms are mounted to the steering arm in a manner such that savings in weight and material are realized. The swing arms are pivotally mounted forwardly at upper and lower locations on said steering arm and pivotally mounted rearwardly on the vehicle, said forward mounting location of said upper swing arm being outside the circumference of the front wheel and said forward mounting location of said lower swing arm being above and rearward of the front wheel axle, said upper and lower swing arms extending upwardly from said rearward mounting locations. Accordingly, the front wheel can take a wide steering angle and the swing arm does not become too heavy.

摘要: A front suspension system for a motorcycle, including an upper fork member supported by a vehicle body frame, a lower fork member which supports a front wheel and a link mechanism connecting between the upper and lower fork members. The system includes a pivotal damper which provides a pivotal reaction force proportional to a pivoted amount thereof in operative cooperation with the link mechanism. The pivotal damper is disposed in the interior of the upper fork member to thereby attain simplification of the construction, reduction of the number of parts and improvement of the aesthetic appeal.

摘要: A front wheel suspension system for motorcycles wherein only one front shock absorber is provided and is arranged adjacent the upper part of the front surface of an upper fork. The shock absorber and at least one link mechanism forming a quadrilateral on the side are connected with each other through a rod functioning as a load transmitting member. The number of shock absorbers is thus reduced, the weight of the suspension system is reduced, the moment of inertia required to rotate the suspension system to the right and left is reduced, and the shock absorber is protected from being adversely affected by mud or the like.

摘要: In the field of vehicle suspension, theoretically, single pivot architecture is the simplest way to produce a suspension. However, in practice, this requires specific parts to manage the forces associated with the braking system, which creates a complicated architecture that is incompatible with standard interface elements. The device according to the present disclosure has a specific caliper support member enabling this type of suspension to be considerably simplified and optimized. The device is provided with a single pivot rocker, which provides a single degree of freedom for the front wheel to move in an arc, a caliper support member connected to the rocker by a pivot joint coaxial with the wheel axis and a torque link connecting the rocker to the fork frame by pivot or ball joints. The device according to the present disclosure is particularly suitable for front steering wheel suspension, for motorcycles, bicycles, two-wheeled vehicles, etc.

摘要: A rear wheel suspension adjusting arrangement for use in a vehicle includes a configuration adjusting arrangement and an activating arrangement. The vehicle includes a frame having a front and a back, a suspended rear drive wheel that supports the frame, and a suspension system for connecting the rear drive wheel to the frame. The configuration adjusting arrangement is capable of changing the positioning of the suspension system relative to the frame such that the suspension system may be moved into an uphill configuration when the vehicle is traveling uphill and such that the suspension system may be moved into a downhill configuration when the vehicle is traveling downhill. The activating arrangement activates the changing of the configuration adjusting arrangement to cause the configuration adjusting arrangement to change the positioning of the suspension system relative to the frame while the vehicle is being used.

The steering system further including a second steering arrangement that controls movement of the suspended assembly relative to the main vehicle body such that the suspended assembly pivots about a second steering axis with the second steering axis being different than the first steering axis.
