Abstract:
In a clamping device, the number of components for an article detection means is reduced. In a stacker, a tire is placed on the carry surface. The first gripping member and the second gripping member grip a side of tire placed on the carry surface and include an abutment surface having a bent portion and are capable of abutting with the side of tire. The first sensor and the second sensor include a light axis in a direction along the article. The controller moves the first gripping member and the second gripping member close to each other to the first position where the tire is not gripped. When the tire is detected with the first sensor and second sensor, the controller moves the first gripping member and the second gripping member close to each other to the second position where the tire is gripped.
Abstract:
Provided is a conveyor for conveying a tire component, in particular a tread for retreading, wherein the conveyor includes a support surface that extends in a direction of conveyance to support the tire component during conveyance in the direction of conveyance, wherein the support surface is provided with a surface structure that is arranged to contact seventy-five percent or less than seventy-five percent of the downwardly facing surface area of the tire component, wherein the support surface is arranged to be held stationary during conveyance of the tire component and wherein the conveyor is provided with one or more manipulators to manipulate the position of the tire component on the stationary support surface by sliding the tire component over the stationary support surface.
Abstract:
A conveyor for transporting and elevating articles and a method and system for conveying articles up inclines is provided. The conveyor has a conveyor belt and a plurality of support elements extending outward from the article-conveying surface of the conveyor belt advancing upward along the incline. The support elements prevent conveyed articles from sliding down the conveyor belt on the incline. The article-conveying surface of the conveyor belt may provide a low-friction retention surface to articles leaning away from the conveyor belt on the incline.
Abstract:
An automatic tire loader/unloader for stacking/unstacking tires in a trailer is disclosed. In one embodiment, a mobile base structure provides a support framework for a drive subassembly, conveyance subassembly, an industrial robot, a distance measurement subassembly, and a control subassembly. Under the operation of the control subassembly, tires advance through a powered transportation path to an industrial robot which places the tires within the trailer in a vertical stacking pattern or a rick-stacking pattern, for example. The control subassembly coordinates the selective articulated movement of the industrial robot and the activation of the drive subassembly based upon the distance measurement subassembly detecting objects, including tires, within a detection space, dimensions of the trailer provided to the control subassembly, and dimensions of the tires provided to the control subassembly.
Abstract:
A wheel lifter and tipper includes a hook end with a plurality of notches that are each configured for different wheel manipulations and/or for different types of wheels. Each of the plurality of notches is configured to tip wheels into an upright position without deflating or breaking a bead of a tire of the wheel. The device further includes a u-shaped bend configured to support a wheel during a wheel loading manipulation, and a pad end rotationally mounted to a body of the device. During the loading manipulation, the pad end remains stationary and acts as a fulcrum and the body with the u-shaped bend acts as a lever arm. The device is passed through a center of the wheel, and the lever arm is raised or lowered in order to raise or lower the wheel to or from a raised surface, respectively.

Abstract:
The tire vulcanizer is provided with an unloading device. The unloading device removes a vulcanized tire that has been vulcanized in the main body of the vulcanizer and conveys same to a cooling position at which the vulcanized tire is cooled, and conveys the vulcanized tire that has been cooled at the cooling position to a discharge position for transfer to an exporting device for discharging the vulcanized tire. The unloading device is provided with a support section capable of supporting the vulcanized tire, a rotational movement section for rotating the support section in a plane, and a linear movement section for moving the support section linearly.
Abstract:
An improved sorting system for use with a conveyor assembly includes a transverse roller conveyor belt for conveying a product to one or more product stations. The sorting system provides a stager system for positioning product on moving conveyor and a diverter system for shuttling product into alternative channels. The system in a preferred embodiment is configured for use with tire handling components, and can be equipped with a bar code reader useable with tires.
