Abstract: An apparatus (1) for processing container closures (2) comprises a sterilization unit (3), having a sterilization module (7) with means for spraying on the closures (2) a hot sterilization fluid, a capping unit (4), having screwing means active on the closures (2) for connecting them on correspondent containers, applying a predetermined torque, a guide member (5) configured in such a way to allow a plurality of closures (2) to be arranged therein and connected to the sterilization unit (3) and to the capping unit (4) to guide the closures (2) from the sterilization unit (3) to the capping unit (4), and means (13) for regulating the temperature of the closures (2) arranged in the guide member (5), to provide that the closures (2) have a predetermined desired temperature in the capping unit (4).A method for processing container closures (2) comprises the following steps: sterilizing the closures (2) by spraying on the closures (2) a hot sterilization fluid, transferring the closures (2) from a sterilization unit (3) to a capping unit (4), by means of a guide member (5) interposed therein, screwing the closures (2) for connecting them on correspondent containers, applying a predetermined torque to the closures (2) in the capping unit (4), and regulating the temperature of the closures (2) arranged in the guide member (5), to provide that the closures (2) have a predetermined desired temperature in the capping unit (4).

Abstract: For closing bottles with sterile caps, the caps are placed in a non-sterile environment in a vertical arrangement and are supplied vertically to a first sterile area. The interior of the caps is arranged to be accessible horizontally. The caps are sterilized in the first sterile area and transferred to a second sterile area where the caps are placed onto bottles. Subsequently, the bottle is closed with the cap. The machine for sterile closing of bottles with caps has a sterilization device with an individualization device for picking up caps and a vertical transport path feeding the caps to the sterilization chamber. A placing device receives the caps from the sterilization device and places the caps onto bottles. A closing device closes the bottles with the cap placed thereon. The sterilization device, the placing device, and the closing device operate as synchronized modules of a linear machine.

Abstract: A closing mechanism for a capping machine for closing bottles via crown caps or similar closures. The closing mechanism is disposed over a bottle support and, in a vertical axis, can be lowered out of a starting position and returned thereto. A deformation member is provided for placing a closure upon the mouth of the bottle and for subsequently fixing the closure thereon via deformation of the closure while simultaneously pressing the closure against the mouth. A hold-down mechanism extends centrally through the deformation member and is spring-loaded via at least one spring. The hold-down mechanism is displaceable by a prescribed stroke in the vertical direction relative to a closure part that cooperates with the spring. For a CIP cleaning, openings are provided in the region of the hold-down surface for supplying and withdrawing a cleaning or rinsing fluid. At least one of these openings is connected via a channel that extends through the hold-down mechanism to a connector that is provided in the region of that end of the hold-down mechanism remote from the hold-down surface thereof.
