A retainer insertion direction restricting arm having guided faces is formed in the retainer. The guided faces are guided in the retainer guide groove while being respectively in sliding contact with the opposing guiding faces of the retainer guide groove when the retainer is to be inserted into the connector housing. A terminal engagement portion is disposed in the retainer. The terminal engagement portion prevents a connecting terminal which is provisionally inserted into the terminal housing chamber of the connector housing when the retainer is provisionally positioned with respect to the connector housing, from slipping off from the terminal housing chamber.

摘要： An electrical connector (1) comprises an insulated housing (2), a number of terminals (3) received in a number of passageways (21) of the insulated housing (2) and a separate spacer (4) which attaches to the housing. The spacer defines a number of through holes (45) each having a configuration of “T” consisted by a wide portion (451) and a narrow portion (453) and corresponding with the passageway. A recess (455) is defined on a bottom of the narrow portion which is far from the wide portion of each through hole and the recess does not run through the spacer. The terminals each are received in the passageway with a pair of shoulders extending from both sides of the connecting portion of the terminal. The shoulders are finally plunged in the recesses to make sure that the terminals will be received in the passageways of the housing without a sliding movement relative to the housing.

摘要： A terminal retainer system is disclosed for an electrical connector assembly. The system includes a dielectric connector housing having a plurality of terminal-receiving passages and a retainer slot adjacent the passages. A plurality of conductive terminals are insertable in an insertion direction into the terminal-receiving passages. Each terminal includes an engaging portion. A terminal retainer is insertable into the retainer slot in a direction generally parallel to the insertion direction of the terminals to a pre-load position allowing insertion of the terminals into the passages. The terminal retainer is movable in a direction transverse to the insertion direction of the terminals from the pre-load position to a retaining position in engagement with the engaging portions of the terminals to retain the terminals in the passages.

摘要： An electrical connector includes a housing having a forward mating end and a rearward terminating end and at least one terminal-receiving cavity extending along an axis in a direction between the ends. A terminal is insertable into the cavity from the rearward terminating end of the housing. The terminal has a transversely enlarged portion located at a given axial position when the terminal is fully inserted into the cavity. A TPA device is engageable with the housing at the rearward terminating end thereof. The TPA device includes at least two parts interconnected for relative movement transversely of the axis between open and closed positions. The parts define a passage therebetween for receiving the terminal therethrough when the parts are in their open position. The parts are adapted to abut the enlarged portion of the terminal to prevent movement of the parts to their closed position in the event the terminal is not at least substantially inserted into the cavity and, thereby, indicating a condition of incomplete insertion of the terminal.

The double-lock connector of the present invention includes a connector housing and a terminal retainer for being inserted into the connector housing. The connector housing has a plurality of terminal receiving chambers which are separated from one another by a horizontal partition wall and a vertical partition wall. An elastic retaining piece is provided within each of the terminal receiving chambers. A rearwardly-extending tongue-like terminal guide piece is formed on the horizontal partition wall, separating the upper and lower terminal receiving chambers from each other, and is disposed centrally with the width of each terminal receiving chamber. A front end of the terminal guide piece is extended substantially to an inlet end of the connector housing.

摘要： A connector including a separate terminal retainer for retaining terminals in a connector housing where the retainer can be disengaged from the connector housing without the use of external jigs. The connector includes the connector housing having a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers, and the terminal retainer adapted to be connected to a rear portion of the connector housing in a two-step manner, i.e. a provisional engagement condition and a complete engagement condition, and movable relative to the connector housing. The terminal retainer has flexible retaining pieces and flexible support pieces. In the complete engagement condition, the flexible retaining pieces are engaged with respective metal terminals by their own flexibility, and the flexible support pieces are guided and elastically bent by the drive surfaces of the connector housing to be engaged with respective metal terminals. When the terminal retainer is moved backward from the complete engagement condition beyond the provisional engagement condition, the flexible retaining pieces ride onto projections of the connector housing to be displaced out of the locus of movement of the metal terminals being removed. The metal terminal can be easily removed from the connector housing without using any jigs.
