    摘要: A thermal fixing device for a xerographic reproducing apparatus includes a thin planar resistance heating element having a low thermal mass and a high coefficient of thermal expansion. The heating element is supported in such manner that one end thereof is free to move linearly under thermal expansion to activate a heater displacement detector comprising a pivotally mounted lever arm having a right angle configuration. One end of the lever arm is received in an opening in the heating element and the other end form a contact of a normally open switch which is adapted to be closed by pivoting of the arm due to expansion of the heating element. Closure of the switch activates a power controller to interrupt the power supply to the heating element.

    摘要: Devices and methods to enable a fuser heater within a printing device. The heater includes conductive traces and a resistive trace having a first end and a second end. The resistive trace is connected to the conductive traces at each of the first end and the second end and forms an electrical connection between the conductive traces and the resistive trace. The resistive trace further includes a tap between the first end and the second end, connecting the resistive trace to one of the conductive traces and forming an electrical connection between the one of the conductive traces and the resistive trace. The tap comprises multiple branches extending out of the resistive trace. A gap is formed between each of the branches.

The heater lamp control apparatus also includes a pulse signal generation unit to generate a pulse reference signal based on a result of the detection, a pulse delay signal that is phase-delayed, and a heater lamp control pulse signal based on a result of the comparison of the magnitudes of the pulse reference signal and the pulse delay signal. The heater lamp control pulse signal includes a control unit to control a drive-timing of the heater lamp based on the heater lamp control pulse signal. Thus, the heater lamp control apparatus minimizes a flickering phenomenon as well as an amount of electric power consumed in a heater lamp.

    摘要: A non-contact power supply unit including a secondary coil supplies an alternating voltage to multiple heat generation layers provided in a heat generation film. In one of the heat generation layers, a loop is provided as a variable impedance circuit in which the impedance changes according to the frequency. A capacitance element in which the impedance changes according to the frequency is provided in the loop. The heat generation amounts of the heat generation layers are switched by changing the frequency of the alternating voltage generated in the secondary coil according to the size of the recording material that is the heating target.
