摘要： A door panel latching apparatus including first and second elongated rods telescoped together for relative sliding movement. The first rod is mounted to the door with a free end for latching near an upper door edge and free to rotate about its longitudinal axis but is prevented from moving longitudinally. The second rod is mounted to the door with a free end for latching near a lower door edge and free to rotate about its longitudinal axis and to move along its longitudinal axis. A handle is connected to the rods by a linkage for longitudinally moving the second rod when the handle is rotated about an axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rods and for rotating both rods when the handle is rotated about an axis which is coincident with the longitudinal axes of the rods.

摘要： A latching assembly particularly well suited for being mounted on the outside of an insulated door without having to disturb or reduce the insulating material, and which is concealed from view by a channel-like handle used for opening the door. The latching assembly includes a helical cam that rotates as the handle pivots and further includes a follower that is driven by the helical cam parallel to the axis of rotation. The latch bolt is attached to this follower, whereby pivoting motion of the handle is converted into translational motion of the latch bolt.

A window or door assembly comprises a fixed frame; a closure movably mounted in the frame; a rod 20; means mounting the rod along a member of the frame, the rod being rotatable about an axis along the said member of the frame, and the rod also being longitudinally movable along the said axis; an abutment 32 carried by the rod and rotatable into or out of the path of movement of the closure; means to prevent rotation of the abutment out of the path of movement of the closure when the rod is at one position along the said axis; and a handle 42 which is operable to move the rod longitudinally and to rotate the rod. As shown the handle has an open ended slot 50 in which the abutment 32 of the rod is disposed and the arrangement is such that the rod as well is being pivoted about its axis is also moved longitudinally to disengage a pair of flats 40 on the rod from a corresponding pair of flats of a nylon block 22 and which form the means which prevent the rotation of the abutment. The block 22 and a second bleak 24 mount the rod on the frame. The flats 40 are provided on a portion of the rod which is offset from the remainder of the rod. The rod also causes a second abutment 1-30 as shown. The rod and the abutments can be made of a single piece of material. The abutments are covered by a sleeve.
