A ventilation and air circulation system for a greenhouse comprises a motorized shutter assembly 16 in a wall 14 of the greenhouse, a distribution fan 10 spaced therefrom, a tube 20 attached to the discharge end of the fan 10 and having a plurality of openings 22 along its length, and an exhaust fan 26 in a further wall 28 at the other end of the building to the first wall 14. The exhaust fan 26 is switched on and the shutters 16 are open for ventilation, and the fan is switched off and the shutters closed for circulation, the two being operated simultaneously by a humidistat 48 and/or a thermostat 46. The distribution fan 10 may incorporate stationary vanes to reduce turbulence. The tube 20 may be formed of flexible plastics material which is held in shape by the flow of air. The openings 22 are located within 30 degrees of the horizontal diameter of the tube 20.
