摘要:
A small-sized, light weighted vacuum circuit interrupter is provided. The interrupter comprises a vacuum container confining a vacuum atmosphere of a pressure less than 10.sup.-5 mmHg and a pair of electrodes at least one of which is a movable electrode for making and breaking an electric circuit including either a transformer of a rated surge voltage strength of less than 45 kV or a motor of a rated surge voltage strength of less than 25 kV. At least one of the electrodes has a contact made of a porous body of a refractory conductive material and an impregnate selected from the group consisting of silver telluride, silver selenide and mixtures thereof impregnated in the porous body in an amount sufficient to give the interrupter a chopping current of not more than 1A and an arc extinguishing capability at 1MHz of not more than 27 A/.mu.s when measured in a circuit of 6 kV. The interrupter can be connected to the load without a surge absorber for protecting the breaker from a surge voltage generated at the time of interrupting the circuit.

The invention relates to electric contact materials for use in switches, such as moulded circuit breakers, air circuit breakers, magnetic switches, etc.The electric contact materials comprise 5-60 weight % iron group metals, 1-11 weight % graphite, 5-70 weight % refractory materials, and the residual part consisting of silver, said refractory materials being held in the state of dispersion in the iron group metals and/or silver, thereby providing welding resistance, wear resistance, and insulation resistance as well as high practical utility of low temperature rise.

There is presented an electrical contact material consisting of an alloy of gold and a compound selected from a group consisting of a carbide, a boride, or a silicide of a refractory element. The compound of the refractory element is selected from a group consisting of WC, Hfb.sub.2, TiB.sub.2, ZrB.sub.2, WSi.sub.2, and TiSi.sub.2. The resulting alloys have a hexagonal crystal structure and exhibit high wear resistance, low contact resistance, low electrical noise, and a homogeneous uncontaminated microstructure.
摘要:
An electrical contact material consisting essentially of a highly conductive metal such as gold or silver, a refractory constituent such as tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, titanium, their carbides, or mixtures thereof and a bonding constituent of at least two metals that form an alloy selected from the iron group (Group VIII of the Periodic Table of the Elements), and copper. The material has improved properties including improved resistance to arc erosion, resistance to bleeding of the highly conductive metal, and resistance to welding or sticking when used as an electrical contact material.
