Abstract: A method (100) of manufacturing a lead for an implantable medical device. The method includes: depositing (110) a base layer (3) of biocompatible, electrically non-conductive material; depositing (120) one or more complementary layers (5) of biocompatible, electrically non-conductive material to the base layer (3), wherein the base layer (3) and complementary layer (5) form at least one slot (7); and depositing (130) biocompatible, electrically conductive material (9) into the slot (7). There is also disclosed a lead for an implantable medical device and an apparatus (41) to manufacture the lead.

Abstract: A composite nanomaterial of ZnO impregnated by, e.g., a green copper phthalocyanine compound (CuPc) can be an efficient solar light photocatalyst for water remediation. The composite may include hollow shell microspheres and hollow nanospheres of CuPc-ZnO. CuPc may function as a templating and/or structure modifying agent, e.g., for forming hollow microspheres and/or nanospheres of ZnO particles. The composite can photocatalyze the degradation of organic pollutants such as crystal violet (CV) and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid as well as microbes in water under solar light irradiation. The ZnO—CuPc composite can be stable and recyclable under solar irradiation.

Abstract: An electrically conductive paste contains: metal nanoparticles which are protected by an organic compound containing an amino group and have an average particle diameter of 30 nm to 400 nm; metal particles which are protected by a higher fatty acid and have an average particle diameter of 1 μm to 5 μm; an organic solvent; and a resin component consisting of a cellulose derivative. A conductor obtained by firing the electrically conductive paste has a film thickness of 30 μm or more and a specific resistance of 5.0×10−6 Ω·cm or less. In this way, the electrically conductive paste can reduce the resistance of the obtained conductor and to increase the amount of current flowing. A wiring board includes a conductor obtained from the electrically conductive paste.

Abstract: A conductive paste contains at least a conductive powder, glass frit, and an organic vehicle. The conductive powder contains a noble metal powder such as an Ag powder and a base metal powder containing Cu and/or Ni, and the base metal powder has a specific surface area of less than 0.5 m2/g. The content of the base metal powder with respect to the total amount of the conductive powder is, in ratio by weight, 0.1 to 0.3 when the base metal powder contains Cu as its main constituent, 0.1 to 0.2 when the base metal powder contains Ni as its main constituent, and 0.1 to 0.25 when the base metal powder contains a mixed powder of Cu and Ni as its main constituent.

Abstract: A tire has a cap rubber formed of a nonconductive rubber and forms a ground surface, and a conductive portion provided in at least one side end portion of a pair of side end portions in both ends in a tire width direction. The conductive portion is formed of a conductive rubber, and reaches a side surface of the cap rubber from the ground surface through an inner portion of the cap rubber. The conductive portion is the smallest in thickness in the ground surface, is relatively large in thickness in the side surface of the cap rubber, is gradually increased in thickness from the ground surface to the side surface of the cap rubber, and is formed into a trumpet shape which is curved into an inner side in a tire width direction and an inner side in a radial direction, in a tire meridian cross section.

Abstract: Non-invasive “drawable”, or “paintable”, electrode for electrical stimulation or biological signal sensing comprising a pervious and electrically conductive layer (1), at least one electrically insulating element (2) for maintaining the electrically conductive layer (1) separated from the skin (11), and a conductive material (3) that is deposed using a delivery system (4) on desired areas (5) of the electrically conductive layer (1). The conductive material (3) can penetrate the electrically conductive layer (1) and any other part of the electrode underlying the desired areas (5), thus reaching the skin. The conductive material (3) creates an electrical connection between the desired areas (5) of the electrically conductive layer (1) and the skin. Therefore, the shape of the desired areas (5) electrically connected with the skin, can be customized by the user deposing (or “drawing”) the conductive material (3). Thus, the conductive material (3) enables the fabrication of electrodes with custom-shaped electrically conductive areas in desired positions.
