摘要： The backpack includes a pin that extends from a first frame. The first frame supports a bag or equipment that is carried by an end user. The backpack also includes a second frame that is worn by the end user. The second frame has a spring biased lock rod that moves between a lock position and a release position. In the lock position the rod engages the pin and attaches the first frame to the second frame. The lock rod is attached to a cord which can be pulled to move the rod to the release position. To release the backpack, the end user pulls the cord to disengage the lock rod from the pin. The pin is then separated from the rod to release the first frame from the second frame. The backpack can be re-attached by inserting the pin with the spring biased lock rod.

摘要： A spinning drum carrier having a carrier frame including a curved abdomen support plate attached to a vertical support member which is curved inwardly slightly at the bottom end toward the wearer. The top of the vertical support member is angled inwardly at the top end toward the wearer and removably and adjustably attached to a pair of shoulder strap support members fitting over the shoulders of the user to support the frame and drum. The drum is removably and adjustably attached to an "I-shaped" drum support frame including a longitudinal main member having a straight center section and angled end portions for extending outwardly away from the user to facilitate the curvature of the drum. A pair of spaced apart drum holding members are mounted normal to the distal ends of the main member. Adjustable drum attachment means, such as rotating swivel hooks extend from the distal ends of the drum holding members to the drum rims. Coaxial bushings, a single row radial baring, roller bearings, or preferably a double roll angular contact sealed bearing rotatably connects the drum support frame with the carrier frame. A latching mechanism mounted on the drum support frame provide a means to hold the drum in a rigid stationary manner in a desired position or secure the drum from spinning.

摘要： A backpack frame is molded integrally from composite fiber and resin material to provide a light yet strong frame. The frame includes top and bottom members and a pair of side members. A pair of vertical ribs extend between the top and bottom members, and a plurality of horizontal members extend between the side members. The frame has torsional flexibility about a longitudinal axis which is generally parallel to the side members. Each of the ribs has a generally kidney-shaped cross section which is provided by a groove in the rib. A sack is slidably attached to the frame by elongated beaded attaching members which are sewn to the sack. Each bead is slidably inserted into a key-hole shaped channel in one of the side members. A suspension system includes shoulder straps, a waist belt, and a back pad. Each part of the suspension is formed from closed cell foam which is compression molded to form air-circulating grooves. One or both sides of the foam has a flame laminated skin.

The tube is shaped so that the first end portion is curved in a U-shaped configuration that fits over the shoulder of a user standing in an erect position, the mid portion extends downwardly from the first end portion ahead of the shoulder alongside the torso of the user to the second end portion, and the second end extends downwardly and rearwardly from the mid portion alongside the user in a position enabling the user to grip the second end portion while standing erect, thereby enabling the user to steady the skis and to adjust the incline of the skis by rotating the tube relative to the shoulder of the user by pushing and pulling the second end portion of the tube.

Thus the panel can bend forward and back, that is about a horizontal axis, but cannot flex about a vertical axis. This is achieved by forming the shell with transverse rigidifying formations so it is longitudinally relatively bendable and transversely relatively stiff. These formations according to this invention are ridges or grooves.

摘要： A backpack with a frame to carry a load. The frame has a pair of upright rails, one at each side of the hiker. An encircling belt is attached to each of the upright rails, and a pair of shoulder rests fit over each of the shoulders. Front and rear risers connect to the front and rear legs of the shoulder rests. The rear risers rise from the back of the belt, and the front risers connect to the upright rails. Balance rods extend forwardly from the frame and are vertically pivotable. They can lift and lower the shoulder rests. Forward load-attachment devices on the balance rods can carry a forwardly mounted load.

摘要： The novel weight-balancing device of the present invention is adapted for use in the improved backpack of the present invention. The device comprises a set of two elongated tubes, disposed in telescoping relation to each other with a spring-loaded push button carried by the inner tube adjustably releasably locking the tubes together so that they can have various desired combined lengths. One of the tubes has a slip resistant backpack shoulder strap connector attached at its front end and the other of the tubes has a backpack rear frame connector pivotally secured to its rear end.The improved backpack utilizes a pair of the described novel devices, connected to opposite sides of the backpack rear frame and projecting forwardly to engage the two backpack shoulder straps. Thus, the two devices are disposed on opposite sides of the backpacker. Their purpose is to shift the center of gravity and balance of the backpack from aft of the vertical midline of the backpacker when standing erect with the backpack in place, that is, from a very uncomfortable and clumsy position to a more forward comfortable position adjacent that vertical midline of the backpacker, without the backpacker having to continually tug at the backpack shoulder straps and hunch over to achieve the weight shift. The device is simple, inexpensive, light in weight, durable, easy to install and remove, and is very efficient.
