摘要： A backpack has a pocket and at least one shoulder strap for supporting the backpack on a shoulder of a user. A generally rigid plate and a flexible inflatable bladder are in the pocket with a load bearing bag connected to the pocket for holding a load. A tubular extension extends from the bladder and into the shoulder strap for inflating and deflating the bladder and a mouth-inflatable check valve is connected to the tubular extension at a location spaced from the bladder and positioned so as to be accessible to the user for inflating the bladder by blowing into the check valve. A curved semirigid liner inside the material of the shoulder strap near the bladder forms a semirigid channel for receiving the tubular extension.

摘要： A portable ballistic shield is disclosed. The portable ballistic shield is contoured to conform to an individual's body and may be integrated with a rucksack and frame to provide protection to the user's back and torso while still allowing the user substantially unobstructed access to all parts of the rucksack. The portable ballistic shield may also provide rigidity for the rucksack, eliminating the need for a rucksack frame. The portable ballistic shield may also comprise a shape allowing for the user to concurrently utilize an assault rifle or other firearm. During times of hostility, the user may deploy the shield from the rucksack in a minimal amount of time in order to protect the user from oncoming gunfire or shrapnel.

摘要： An improved firearm support is disclosed, comprising a base assembly and a harness secured thereto which is worn by a user to secure said base assembly firmly adjacent to the user's chest. A plurality of support pins protrude outward from the base assembly for receiving and supporting a weapon thereupon. Typically, a weapon having a barrel area and a trigger guard is supported upon the support pins by resting the barrel area of the weapon upon a first support pin and resting the trigger guard of said weapon upon a second support pin. A detachable fastening strap extends from an edge of the base assembly, around the supported weapon, and engages the base assembly on the other side of said weapon, cinching the weapon against the base assembly and holding it firmly thereat, providing the user with hands-free support and permitting said user to move about in an unencumbered manner. Actuation of a trigger located upon the base assembly allows the user to silently disengage the fastening strap and bring the firearm to a ready-to-use position. A safety lock prevents accidental releases of the firearm from the support pins.

The pad has loop portion of a hook and loop securing arrangement e.g. of the type sold under the trademark Velcro, with the hook portion secured to the belt. In this manner the pad is quickly and easily secured in position to the belt extending over the thigh portion. Tool carrying pouches and/or equipment each having the loop portion of the hook and loop arrangement mounted thereon for ease of securing them to the belt. To prevent downward movement of the belt, ends of suspenders are provided with loop portions of the securing arrangement for detachably securing the suspenders to the belt to assist in maintaining the belt in position about the waist of the individual.

The apparatus includes a pack having a front panel and a rear panel which define a chamber therebetween in which articles can be stored and carried. A pair of shoulder straps are secured to the pack such that, with the straps positioned over the shoulders of a person, the front panel faces and is generally parallel to the back of a person. The apparatus further includes a pad assembly having a first and second generally planar pads, each having a top, bottom and two sides. The bottoms of the pads are pivotally secured together between a first position in which the first pad overlies and is substantially parallel to the second pad, and a second position in which the plane of the first pad is substantially perpendicular to the plane of the second pad. The top and sides of the first pad are secured to the top and sides of the second panel so that, with a back of a chair positioned in between the first pad and first panel, the chair supports as the pack behind the back of the chair.

摘要： A belt-attachable holder for a fishing rod is provided. An upper portion forms an integral belt-attaching means. A lower portion is suspended from the upper portion and includes a substantially stiff planar member. A coil is provided to have at least one full turn sized to receive the fishing rod when the coil is in a relaxed state. The coil has first and second ends that are fixed to the stiff planar member. A sleeve of flexible material is open at a top portion thereof and is sized at the top portion to receive the fishing rod. The sleeve terminates at a substantially closed bottom maintained in a fixed relationship to the lower portion a vertical distance below the coil. The top portion has its perimeter aligned with and supported by the one full turn of the coil such that the fishing rod can be inserted into the sleeve through the top portion and the one full turn. The weight of the fishing rod causes the one full turn of the coil to tighten around the fishing rod along with the top portion of the sleeve. In addition, the upper portion can be faced with one side of a hook-and-loop fastening system to serve as a surface of attachment for the complementary side of the fastening system adhered to a fly rod reel. In this way, the holder can support the fly rod extending from the fly rod reel.

摘要： A back pack type suit bag is disclosed having an incorporated semirigid panel enclosed in a side wall of the bag. The semirigid panel defines the profile of the upper portion of the bag and supports the upper hanger strap from which garments are supported. A conventional and flexible bag wall is provided with the bag opening, typically a zipper, to obtain access to the interior of the bag. On the other side of the semirigid panel from the exterior of the bag "back pack" type shoulder straps are fastened. The back pack shoulder straps are attached about the shoulders of the wearer to impart a slight arcurate bend to the semirigid panel with such bending occuring about an axis parallel to the spine of the bag wearer. Preferably, a waist strap is additionally utilized and similarly tightened to reinforce the arch. There results a rigid column type support from the shoulder straps to the hanging point of the garments interior of the bag, a comfortable and conformed fit of the bag to the back of the wearer, as well as a surrounding encasement of the garment by the semirigid panel.
