摘要: A transmission line is provided with a fixed physical length and a programmable electrical length for achieving a programmable time delay. The transmission line can include a dielectric and a biasing device disposed across the dielectric, and the biasing device can dynamically and continuously vary an absolute level of a bias voltage across the dielectric to vary a dielectric constant of the dielectric, which can vary a time delay of the transmission line. In some embodiments, the biasing device can modulate the bias voltage from a positive voltage to a negative voltage at a frequency and with waveform characteristics that prevent such modulation from interfering with a signal propagating through the dielectric, that prevent the bias voltage from unintentionally varying the time delay of the transmission line when the absolute level of the bias voltage is constant, and that prevents ion impurities within the dielectric from accumulating on bias electrodes.

An arrangement of the linear arrays of patch radiators is selected to form a desired shaped antenna pattern having a desired mainlobe shape and desired shoulder shapes to cover selected sensing zones without nulls or holes in the coverage.

摘要: A communication method and device using beamforming in a wireless communication system are disclosed. A base station determines according to a predetermined trigger condition and a channel state of a terminal whether to enable a beam overlap mode using an overlap beam in which a plurality of unitary beams of the base station are overlapped, selects one or more best beams from among the plurality of unitary beams if it is determined that the beam overlap mode is not enabled, and transmits or receives a signal for the terminal through the selected best beams. If it is determined that the beam overlap mode is enabled, the base station forms the overlap beam in which the plurality of unitary beams of the base station are overlapped by adjusting beamforming coefficients of a beamforming unitary and transmits or receives a signal for the terminal through the overlap beam.

摘要: An antenna device is provided. The antenna device includes a reflector having a profile of a parabolic shape in a first cross-section cut parallel to a first direction and a profile of a hyperbolic shape in a second cross-section, the second cross-section being cut perpendicular to the first direction and crossing the first cross-section at a right angle and a radiating structure having at least one phased antenna array adapted to illuminate at least part of the reflector and to scan a beam. The edges of the profile of the parabolic shape of the first cross-section are formed to be directed toward the radiating structure. The edges of the profile of the hyperbolic shape of the reflector are formed to be directed away from the radiating structure. The antenna device may be diversified depending on various embodiments.

摘要: This application proposes multi-beam antenna systems using spherical lens are proposed, with high isolation between antenna ports and compatible to 2×2, 4×4, 8×8 MIMO transceivers. Several compact multi-band multi-beam solutions (with wideband operation, 40%+, in each band) are achieved by creating dual-band radiators movable on the track around spherical lens and by placing of lower band radiators between spherical lenses. By using of secondary lens for high band radiators, coupling between low band and high band radiators is reduced. Beam tilt range and side lobe suppression are improved by special selection of phase shift and rotational angle of radiators. Resultantly, a wide beam tilt range (0-40 degree) is realized in proposed multi-beam antenna systems. Each beam can be individually tilted. Based on proposed single- and multi-lens antenna solutions, cell coverage improvements and stadium tribune coverage optimization are also achieved, together with interference reduction.
