Abstract: A terminal includes circuitry and a transmitter. The circuitry, in operation, determines a first transmission power for a first uplink signal and a second transmission power for a second uplink signal by prioritizing allocation of a transmission power to the second transmission power for the second uplink signal, responsive to, in a first transmission time interval (TTI) where the first uplink signal is transmitted, the second uplink signal being transmitted in a second TTI that is shorter than the first TTI. The transmitter, in operation, transmits the first uplink signal with the determined first transmission power and transmits the second uplink signal with the determined second transmission power.

Abstract: An encoder includes circuitry and memory connected to the circuitry, and the circuitry, in operation: determines, based on a width and a height of a block, whether or not to disable a prediction mode in which the block is split along a partitioning line defined by a distance and an angle and then prediction is performed; and encodes the block with the prediction mode disabled or not disabled according to a result of the determination on whether or not to disable the prediction mode. Here, the distance is the shortest distance between the center of the block and the partitioning line, and the angle is an angle representing a direction from the center of the block toward the partitioning line in the shortest distance. The circuitry determines to disable the prediction mode when (i) a width-to-height ratio is at least 8 or (ii) a height-to-width ratio is at least 8.

Abstract: A transmitting method includes: configuring a frame using a plurality of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols, by allocating a plurality of transmission data to a plurality of areas; and transmitting the frame. The plurality of areas are each identified by at least one time resource among resources and at least one frequency resource among frequency resources. The frame includes a first period in which a preamble is transmitted, and a second period in which the plurality of transmission data are transmitted by at least one of time division and frequency division. The second period includes a first area, and the first area includes a data symbol generated from first transmission data, a data symbol generated from second transmission data and subsequent to the data symbol generated from the first transmission data, and a dummy symbol subsequent to the data symbol generated from the second transmission data.

Abstract: In a multi-antenna communication system using LDPC codes, a simple method is used to effectively improve the received quality by performing a retransmittal of less data without restricting applicable LDPC codes. In a case of a non-retransmittal, a multi-antenna transmitting apparatus (100) transmits, from two antennas (114A,114B), LDPC encoded data formed by LDPC encoding blocks (102A,102B). In a case of a retransmittal, the multi-antenna transmitting apparatus (100) uses a transmission method, in which the diversity gain is higher than in the previous transmission, to transmit only a part of the LDPC encoded data as previously transmitted. For example, the only the part of the LDPC encoded data to be re-transmitted is transmitted from the single antenna (114A).

In operation, the circuitry: corrects a base motion vector using a correction value for correcting the base motion vector in a predetermined direction; and encodes a current partition to be encoded in an image of a video, using the base motion vector corrected. The correction value is specified by a first parameter and a second parameter, the first parameter indicating a table to be selected from among a plurality of tables each including values, the second parameter indicating one of the values included in the table to be selected indicated by the first parameter. In each of the plurality of tables, a smaller value among the values is assigned a smaller index. Each of the plurality of tables includes a different minimum value among the values.

Abstract: Provided are wireless communication methods and devices. In one embodiment, a wireless communication method performed by a wireless communication device comprises: transmitting a data packet repeatedly in multiple subframes including at least one normal subframe and at least one special subframe to another wireless communication device, wherein the available resources in the special subframe are different from that in the normal subframe, the data packet includes multiple modulated symbols which are divided into multiple modulated-symbol sets, in each subframe, each OFDM symbol is mapped by one of the modulated-symbol sets, and in every subframe, the modulated symbols in the same modulated-symbol set are mapped onto REs in one OFDM symbol in a fixed order. In another embodiment, multiple repetitions of the data packet are transmitted in each subframe, and in each special subframe, different repetitions are mapped onto REs with cyclic shift.

Abstract: One coding method of a plurality of coding methods including at least a first coding method and a second coding method is selected, an information sequence is encoded by using the selected coding method, and an encoded sequence obtained by performing predetermined processing on the information sequence is modulated and transmitted. The first coding method is a coding method having a first coding rate, for generating a first encoded sequence by performing puncturing processing on a generated first codeword by using a first parity check matrix. The second coding method is a coding method having a second coding rate, for generating a second encoded sequence by performing puncturing processing on a generated second codeword by using a second parity check matrix that is different from the first parity check matrix, the second coding rate after the puncturing process being different from the first coding rate.
