Abstract: A method and network are provided for a reconfigurable optical sensor network. The method includes configuring, by a controller, the reconfigurable optical sensor network, including one or more reconfigurable optical space switches, for a type of sensor data. The method also includes generating sensor data in the type of sensor data with one or more of a plurality of bidirectional sensors. The method additionally includes sending the sensor data to one or more optical star couplers. The method further includes forwarding the sensor data from one of the one or more optical star couplers to the one of one or more reconfigurable optical space switches.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling battery charge levels to maximize savings in a behind the meter energy management system include predicting a demand charge threshold with a power demand management controller based on historical load. A net energy demand is predicted for a current day with a short-term forecaster. A demand threshold maximizes financial savings using the net energy demand using a rolling time horizon optimizer by concurrently optimizing the demand charge savings and demand response rewards. A load reduction capability factor of batteries is determined with a real-time controller corresponding to an amount of energy to fulfill the demand response rewards. The net energy demand is compared with the demand threshold to determine a demand difference. Battery charge levels of the one or more batteries are controlled with the real time controller according to the demand difference and the load reduction capability factor.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method executed in a wireless communication system for establishing communication links in a millimeter wave network is presented. The method includes determining active communication links between a plurality of transmitters and a plurality of receivers operated by a plurality of users and formulating a quality of service (QoS) proportional fairness (PF) network utility as a constrained submodular set function maximization problem. The method further includes performing an optimization framework by optimizing, based on the active communication links, user association for fixed transmit beam patterns and optimizing, based on the active communication links, the fixed transmit beam patterns and corresponding beam attributes for a fixed set of user associations. The method also includes iteratively performing the optimizing steps in an alternating manner to determine a user from the plurality of users that optimizes the constrained submodular set function maximization problem and assigning the determined user to a cell.

Abstract: A system and method are provided. The system includes a processor. The processor is configured to receive a plurality of events from network devices, the plurality of events including entities that are involved in the plurality of events. The processor is further configured to embed the entities into a common latent space based on co-occurrence of the entities in the plurality of events and model respective pairs of the entities for compatibility according to the embedding of the entities to form a pairwise interaction for the respective pairs of the entities. The processor is additionally configured to weigh the pairwise interaction of different ones of the respective pairs of the entities based on one or more compatibility criterion to generate a probability of an occurrence of an anomaly and alter the configuration of one or more of the network devices based on the probability of the occurrence of the anomaly.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying similarities in program binaries, including extracting program binary features from one or more input program binaries to generate corresponding hybrid features. The hybrid features include a reference feature, a resource feature, an abstract control flow feature, and a structural feature. Combinations of a plurality of pairs of binaries are generated from the extracted hybrid features, and a similarity score is determined for each of the pairs of binaries. A hybrid difference score is generated based on the similarity score for each of the binaries combined with input hybrid feature parameters. A likelihood of malware in the input program is identified based on the hybrid difference score.

Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling behind-the meter energy storage/management systems (EMSs) to maximize battery lifetime, including determining optimal monthly demand charge thresholds based on a received customer load profile, battery manufacturer specifications, and battery operating conditions and parameters. The determining of the monthly demand charge threshold includes iteratively performing daily optimizations to determine battery utilization, and minimize demand charge for each day for the load profile. A battery lifetime is predicted based on manufacturer specifications and utilization determined by the daily optimizations. A battery capacity retention value and battery capacity loss are determined based on an annual discharged energy (AADE) and an average battery state-of-charge (SoC). An optimal monthly demand threshold is selected based on the predicted battery lifetime and demand charge utilization. EMS operations are controlled by tuning the battery parameters to provide maximum demand charge and battery lifetime for the customer load profile using a real-time controller.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for controlling a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) having a battery set and connected to a Photovoltaic (PV) panel set. The method includes enforcing, by a processor device, a multi-objective Model Predictive Control (MPC) optimization on the BESS. The multi-objective MPC optimization includes a first objective of reducing a possibility of Demand Charge Threshold violations by minimal DCT increments which provide a higher demand charge savings, a second objective of improving a robustness of the BESS against energy forecast errors by increasing a State Of Charge (SOC) of the battery set, and a third objective of maximizing PV-utilization. The method further includes controlling, by the processor device, charging and discharging of the BESS in accordance with the multi-objective MPC optimization to meet the first, second, and third objectives.

Abstract: Methods and systems for embedding a network in a latent space include generating a representation of an input network graph in the latent space using an autoencoder model and generating a representation of a set of noise samples in the latent space using a generator model. A discriminator model discriminates between the representation of the input network graph and the representation of the set of noise samples. The autoencoder model, the generator model, and the discriminator model are jointly trained by minimizing a joint loss function that includes parameters for each model. A final representation of the input network graph is generated using the trained autoencoder model.
