摘要: A duplex printing device comprises a duplex printing master on which a first image and a second image are perforated in series over the length of a single plate, and a simplex printing master on which a third image having an image area equivalent to the first image and the second image is perforated over the length of a single plate. The duplex printing master or simplex printing master is wrapped around an outer peripheral surface of a print drum, thereby enabling a duplex printing operation in which one of the first image and second image is printed by pressing a front side of a sheet against the duplex printing master on the print drum using pressing means which can be brought into and out of contact with the print drum, after which the other of the first image and the second image is printed by reversing and refeeding the sheet and pressing a reverse side of the sheet against the duplex printing master on the print drum using the pressing means, and a simplex printing operation in which the third image is printed by pressing one side of the sheet against the simplex printing master on the print drum. When power is supplied to the duplex printing device, during mode clearance for clearing various modes executed by the duplex printing device, and so on, a preset initial set mode can be switched between a duplex print mode for performing the duplex printing operation and a simplex print mode for performing the simplex printing operation.

摘要: A bar code reader provided with a laser diode (2) and a rotatory mirror (8) for deflecting a laser beam emitted by the laser diode for scanning, wherein a strip (20A) attached to the rotatory mirror (8), serving as a sensing indicator, is sensed at a position corresponding to a reading start edge of a laser beam scanning range of a bar code (1), and rotation of the rotatory mirror (8) is stopped for a predetermined time length after sensing of the strip (20A) and measurement of a scanning time length up to the final position of bar code reading, respectively, in the case of automatic scanning while rotation of the rotatory mirror (8) is locked upon measurement of half of a scanning time length up to the final position of the bar code reading after the sensing of the strip (20A) in the case of manual scanning, so that the laser beam can be recognized with ease, enabling focusing thereof or the manual scanning to be implemented.

摘要: A printing/verifying direction section in a control section directs a thermal head controller and a sheet conveying motor controller to do printing in accordance with a detection result by a sheet position detection sensor, so as to print image data in a printing image storage section on a sheet (label) by a thermal head. Further, based on printing position data from a printing data storage section, the printing/verifying direction section directs a verification section controller to operate a scanner controller so as to permit a scanner to read an image of a printed mark. The verification section controller compares the read image with printing data in the printing data storage section to judge whether the image is good or no good. When it is no good, the mark is returned to a printing position by the thermal head by a direction of a printing/verifying controller, so that the thermal head prints an overwriting image in an overwriting image storage section on the mark.

摘要: The present invention provides a scanner control method capable of being shared even by a printer which is relatively low in write speed as compared with the read speed. In the case where a printer having a relatively lower write speed than the read speed is connected, an original image reading operation is performed at a high read speed, but the original image on the same main scan line is read by a number of times, m, (e.g., m=2) corresponding to a magnification ratio between the read speed and the write speed while decreasing the read speed in a sub scan direction, and only the image data obtained from a single read of the main scan line out of the m times of read is outputted by a thinning-out processing. By so doing, there is performed a read operation substantially matching the low write speed without any change in the actual read speed of a read unit. In this way it becomes possible for a scanner to be shared even by a printer whose write speed is relatively low in comparison with the read speed.

摘要: A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet stacking section configured to stack a number of sheets, a sheet feeding mechanism configured to feed the sheet stacked on the sheet stacking section one by one, and an intermediate conveying device configured to convey the sheet fed from the sheet feeding mechanism to an image forming apparatus. The intermediate conveying device includes a plurality of sheet conveying devices arranged in an intermediate sheet conveying path at certain intervals to convey the sheet fed from the sheet feeding mechanism, at least one driving device configured to drive each of the plurality of sheet conveying devices, and a plurality of sheet detecting devices arranged in the intermediate sheet conveying path at certain intervals to detect a sheet length by detecting at least one of a leading edge and a trailing edge of the conveyed sheet. The sheet feeding apparatus further includes a control device configured to judge the length of a first sheet according to signals sent from the plurality of sheet detecting devices at an initialization time at which the conveying operation for the first sheet is completed, in which when the sheet feeding apparatus and the image forming apparatus are mechanically connected and are allowed to communicate with each other, the control device stops a sheet conveying operation of the image forming apparatus if the length of a sheet is judged to be different from the length of the first sheet after the initialization time.

摘要: A mater making device of the present invention includes a front tension roller pair located downstream of the nip of a thermal head and a platen roller for applying tension to a stencil. The front tension roller pair is made up of an upper roller formed of rubber and a lower roller formed of metal. The lower roller is formed with a plurality of groove portions spaced from each other in the axial direction and each having a small diameter not contacting the stencil. The groove portions therefore reduce the area of contact with the stencil for thereby reducing the influence of static electricity on the stencil.

摘要: A sheet feeding device capable of again feeding, when failed to feed a sheet, the sheet by retry control is disclosed. The sheet feeding device includes a sheet tray loaded with a stack of sheets and a feed roller for sequentially feeding the sheets from the sheet tray one by one. A leading edge sensor is positioned downstream of the feed roller in the direction of sheet feed for sensing the leading edge of the sheet fed from the sheet tray. A registration roller pair is positioned downstream of the leading edge sensor in the direction of sheet feed for conveying the sheet toward an image transfer station at a preselected timing. When the retry control is to be executed, control means varies the content of control in accordance with information output from the leading edge sensor.
