An Internet Set-Top Box (ISTB) and a method of providing wideband IP telephony services using the ISTB are provided, which are capable of implementing wideband voice communication services using a wideband voice codec, controlling a Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packet payload to process a variety of wideband speech frame payloads, and providing high-quality wideband IP telephony services by controlling a jitter buffer to maintain conference call synchronization.

A communication server in cooperation with a telematics center receives a result message for condition guidance service selection result information from the telematics center to control a driver terminal according to traveling condition recognition of a vehicle, stores a driver terminal number, call control request information during traveling, and condition notice information during traveling included in the result message, sets a condition guidance service, and controls call connection with a call connection attempting terminal for attempting a call connection to the driver terminal according to a type of the result message.
Abstract:
A congestion control access gateway and a congestion control method for the same are provided. The congestion control access gateway interfaces between a broadband convergence network and a ubiquitous sensor network including sensors and terminals. The congestion control access gateway receives data from the ubiquitous sensor network. When a congestion situation has occurred, the congestion control access gateway detects the congestion situation based on data received in the congestion situation and broadcasts congestion notification and control messages in response to the congestion situation detection. The congestion control access gateway generates a congestion situation detection profile as a result of the congestion situation detection and performs priority queuing of the received data based on the congestion situation detection profile and service classes. The congestion control access gateway determines destination of the queued data using the congestion situation detection profile and routes the data to a corresponding service.

Provided is a method for forming a customized-quality integrated transport network based on synch and asynch frames, and a transport network forming apparatus thereof. The method of the present invention includes: a) synchronizing a transmission bit rate in a network; b) when the transmission bit rate is synchronized in the network and a connection request is received, establishing a connection by determining a route and a start cycle time of the link based on a quality of the connection request and transporting it to nodes of the link; and c) transmitting data to be transported to a link of an adjacent node within the virtual cycle time when the data are synch frames; or when the data are asynch frames and the data are not transmitted within a virtual cycle time of a link to be switched, keeping the data waiting for a next cycle time.

Provided are an Internet phone terminal that applies a wideband voice codec, and an Internet phone communication method. A wideband voice signal received from the Internet through a wired line or wirelessly is decoded using the wideband voice codec, and a wideband voice signal received through a microphone supporting a wideband is encoded using the wideband voice codec, so that the Internet phone terminal can provide high quality voice communication.

A system and method for performing a traffic process in an integrated network of a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network and a PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) are provided. The system includes: a softswitch which has a plurality of ASPs (Application Server Processes), transmits a data signal to other nodes through an ASP that is selected from among the ASPs, and transmits a heartbeat request message when a CPU (Central Processing Unit) utilization ratio and an SCTP (System Control Transmission Protocol) level congestion of the ASPs exceed respective reference points according to AS (Application Server)/ASP information; and a signaling gateway which updates the reference points of the CPU utilization ratio and the SCTP level congestion in response to the heartbeat request message and transmits a heartbeat acknowledgement message to the softswitch, and checks the CPU utilization ratio and the SCTP level congestion for a plurality of active ASPs within a predetermined CIC (Circuit Identification Code) or SSN (Sub-System Number) range according to the AS/ASP information, to determine the selected ASP when the signaling gateway receives data signal from outside and traffic is distributed.
Abstract:
An encoding apparatus and a decoding apparatus for reducing the quantization error of a G.711 codec and improving sound quality are provided. The encoding apparatus includes a G.711 encoder which generates a G.711 bitstream by encoding an input audio signal; an enhancement-layer encoder which chooses one of a static bit allocation method and a dynamic bit allocation method that can produce less quantization error based on the input audio signal and the G.711 bitstream, and outputs an enhancement-layer bitstream including encoded additional mantissa information obtained by using the chosen bit allocation method; and a multiplexer which multiplexes the G.711 bitstream and the enhancement-layer bitstream. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the quantization error of a G.711 codec and improve sound quality.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of building a personal network in a proxy server. The method includes building the personal network by registering information about a plurality of communication terminals in the proxy server through communication with the communication terminals, searching for a resource requested by a user terminal registered in the personal network, and sharing the found resource with the user terminal. The method allows a user to use own resource possessed by the user if access to the personal network of the user is possible.

Provided are node authentication and node operation methods within service and access networks for bundle authentication between the service and access networks in a next generation network (NGN). A method of authentication processing of a node (S-CSC-FE/I-CSC-FE (Serving Call Session Control Functional Entity/Interrogating Call Session Control Functional Entity)) within a service network for bundle authentication between service and access networks, the method including: receiving first authentication information about access authentication of a terminal from a first node within the service networks; requesting to receive second authentication information from a second node within the service network based on the first authentication information; and comparing the first authentication information with the second authentication information to authenticate the terminal.
