Abstract: There is provided a multi-ring animal collar that can be used to restrain the animal or to provide a choking force on the animal. The unit features a plurality of rings spaced around the periphery of the collar thus facilitating attachment of a leash or other restrain at or near the top of the animal's head. This eliminates the need to access the lower area of the animal's neck thereby improving both convenience and safety when attaching the leash to the collar. The collar may be formed from steel chain or the like or from straps of material such as leather or nylon. Multiple rings allow for two modes of operation: restraint or restraint and choking force. These modes are selected by selecting different attachment rings according to the function desired. The varying length of the links that comprise the collar enables the user to impose varying degrees of choking force upon an animal. Stops included on the varying length links halt the increase of the choking force applied to the animal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for brewing coffee of higher quality and better taste than any apparatus and method currently available, while also enabling users to utilize less coffee grounds per brewing cycle, thereby achieving significant cost savings for users. A basket that houses a packet of coffee grounds is housed within a carafe that stores water. The basket is fabricated so that water may enter therein and exit therefrom, and the packet of coffee grounds enables water and natural coffee oils to penetrate the packet, but does not allow coffee grounds to escape the packet. The carafe is filled with water that is gradually heated from at or around tap temperature to approximately boiling. While the water in the chamber is heated, the basket is agitated. This causes the gradually heating water to enter the basket and agitate the packet, thereby extracting natural coffee oil from the grounds stored within the packet, which creates brewed coffee. The entire brewing process may be controlled by electronic controlling means.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for content metadata and authorization exchange between content providers and service providers. In use, content metadata from each of a plurality of content providers is stored in a central repository for use in identifying to each of a plurality of service providers content of the content providers that is accessible to the service provider. Furthermore, communications between the content providers and the service providers associated with authorizations for content access are proxied via a central proxy.

Abstract: A method and systems for reticle inspection. The method includes coherently illuminating surfaces of an inspection reticle and a reference reticle, applying a Fourier transform to scattered light from the illuminated surfaces, shifting the phase of the transformed light from the reference reticle such that a phase difference between the transformed light from the inspection reticle and the transformed light from the reference reticle is 180 degrees, combining the transformed light as an image subtraction, applying an inverse Fourier transform to the combined light, and detecting the combined light at a detector. An optical path length difference between two optical paths from the illumination source to the detector is less than a coherence length of the illumination source. The image detected by the detector represents a difference in amplitude and phase distributions of the reticles allowing foreign particles, defects, or the like, to be easily distinguished.

Abstract: An automated provisioning system for provisioning a service or device in a communications network, which system comprises a listener (2) adapted to receive a request from a user and a driver adapted to control operation of the service or device. The driver supports a describe operation, which enumerates which operations are available for the user and co-operates with a control processor (22), which mediates between the driver and a data store holding information on which operations are available for the user. When a request to provision an available operation is received, the control processor (22) mediates between the data store and driver to determine what information is required to provision the service or device and to permit the driver to provision the service or device. The system dispenses with the table driven approach of known systems.
