Abstract: A gravity driven steerable wheeled vehicle for recreational use, most particularly on surfaces such as pavement, artificial hard-pack turf, mountain slopes, dirt roads, grass and hard-packed snow. The vehicle has at least three (3) but preferably four (4) wheels which may or may not be on independent axles one from the other and which may or may not be each independently shock suspended. There is also a steering mechanism for steering the vehicle and a driver compartment portion for containing a driver of the vehicle in a prone face-down and face-forward position. The vehicle is steerable by the driver from the prone face-down and face-forward position. The vehicle may further have braking system for slowing or stopping the vehicle and a harness apparatus for harnessing the driver onto and into the vehicle.

Abstract: The de-hulling of cacao beans is expedited and nib yield increased by treatment with infra-red radiation for a period between one half and two minutes. The radiation preferably has a wavelength between 2 and 6 microns and the treatment may conveniently be carried out by means of apparatus according to British Pat. No. 1,379,116.

Abstract: Techniques for self-learning an item's weight range are provided. Weights for items during transactions with an enterprise are recorded and plotted in a data store. A graph is used to plot weights for the items over time. During a particular transaction, when an item is identified and its weight is captured, the graph is consulted to detect any deviance in the captured weight to the graph. When a deviance falls beyond a threshold real-time alerts are raised within the enterprise to manually inspect the item and recorded weight before a transaction with a customer concludes.

Abstract: A coordinate detection system can comprise a display screen, a touch surface corresponding the top of the display screen or a material positioned above the screen and defining a touch area, at least one camera outside the touch area and configured to capture an image of space above the touch surface, and a processor executing program code to identify whether an object interferes with the light from the light source projected through the touch surface based on the image captured by the at least one camera. The processor can be configured to carry out a calibration routine utilizing a single touch point in order to determine a plane corresponding to the touch surface by using mirror images of the features adjacent the touch surface, images of the features, and/or based on the touch point and a normal to the reflective plane defined by an image of the object and its mirror image.

Abstract: Computing devices can comprise a processor and an imaging device. The processor can be configured to support both a mode where gestures are recognized and one or more other modes during which the computing device operates but does not recognize some or all available gestures. The processor can determine whether a gesture recognition mode is activated, use image data from the imaging device to identify a pattern of movement of an object in the space, and execute a command corresponding to the identified pattern of movement if the gesture recognition mode is activated. The processor can also be configured to enter or exit the gesture recognition mode based on various input events.
