    摘要: The problem of damage sustained to a traction device and the extendable traction elements thereof due to tire-roadway interaction forces exerted on the traction elements while extended over the tire tread area is solved by resiliently coupling a traction assembly within a tire rim to permit movement and repositioning of the traction assembly relative to the rim and biasing back to the original position. Preferably the traction assembly is mounted to a traction hub through a resilient coupling, and with the traction hub permitted to rotate relative to the rim. Also preferably, the invention provides for full retraction and extension of the curved traction elements by use of a linear actuator. The present device delivers increased traction in slippery conditions while protecting the traction device and surrounding mechanics from damage due to the impact of roadway forces, and the device is effectively stowed within the rim when not in use.

The main difference between this new invention and prior inventions of like tire chain hangers is that the Slider Chain Hanger features a single sliding door that opens with no clearance needed above the chain hanger. Other chain hangers have only one door that requires a significant amount of clearance to open, a removable door that gets left behind or falls off if not properly secured or the entire chain hanger slides not just the door.

    摘要: An apparatus for use with an automotive wheel including a tire to provide additional traction includes a first and a second ring member fabricated of hard grooved metal material, each having a sufficient diameter and held in a spaced-apart parallel relation by a plurality of transversely oriented angled bar members rigidly connected at each end and equally spaced along the circumference of the rings to the rings so as to be adapted to receive therein and therebetween the tire. The angled bar members each have a convex portion member oriented towards the tire and a concave portion oriented away from the tire. At least one selectively adjustable strap is provided for connecting both of the ring members to the tire in a rotataionally fixed, but removable relation. The selectively adjustable strap has sufficient length to engage both the ring members and the tire in a compressive relation.

    摘要: The anti-slip device comprises a plurality of linkages stretched over the tread of a vehicular tire. The ends of the linkage are formed into loops and extend over the tire sidewalls. In the proximity of the loops are a plurality of binder covered frames attached to the sidewalls in equal segments of space. Protruding from the binder is an extension adapted to be connected with and penetrate the end loops of the linkages to fasten the linkages on the tire tread.

    摘要: A holder for organizing, securing and storing a tire chain for a vehicle wheel when chain is not in use and for facilitating application of chain when being applied. An apparatus of this invention consists of a platform with a pair of spaced apart mounds, around, behind, and in front of which the chain cross links are juxtapositionally aligned in reverse order of application to the tire. A pair of trays on each side thereof store the excess links. A rod passes through each tray parallel to the platform and is threaded through the end links of each cross chain, thereby securing and preventing chain entanglement. Upon application, the vehicle is mounted upon the mounds and the rods removed, leaving all chain links unrestricted in position for applying chain.

    摘要: Track belts designed to fit circumferentially around a pneumatic bladder or tire carcass can be sealed against the ingress of soil and rock between the track shoes attached about the outer periphery of the belt by forming individual and permanent flat sites on the outer circular periphery of the belt so the flat undersurface of each track shoe is nested on a flat shoe site and therefore does not have triangular shaped gaps under its leading and trailing edges. A transverse rib of elastomer, raised from the surface belt between each of the adjacent flat sites further seals the belt in the narrow gaps formed between adjacent track shoes thereby preventing the ingress of soil and rock in these gaps when the shoes pass through a footprint formed as the pneumatic supported system is rolled. In elevation, the outer surface of this pneumatic carcass supported belt is polygonal in appearance with a ridge or rib located at each joint between adjacent flat surfaces of the shoe sites which are circumferentially disposed around the belt.

    摘要: The invention concerns improved tire structures, in particular for use with automobiles and the like. The tire is equipped with non-skid or antislipping means, which are regulatable in their position relative to the tire surface and if desired, may be locked and maintained in their operative location until they are released therefrom. A manipulation of predetermined non-skid element or elements may be had, so that the latter are gradually brought into different effective location or locations relative to the tire surface and afford the desirable anti-slipping result commensurate with the prevailing conditions of the road, autobahns and the like, as well as in accordance with the feel and own volition of the driver. Bowden or other mechanical, electrical or pneumatic power transmission means are employable to regulate, adjust, lock or release the skid elements by the driver from within the vehicle and during vehicular traffic.
