    摘要: A novel phthalocyanine compound having improved solubility and high purity and containing a polymerizable vinyl group within its molecule is provided. Intermediates to this phthalocyanine compound also have improved solubility and high purity. Further, with the novel phthalocyanine compound used as a starting monomer, a novel polymer is obtained which has a high content of (metal) phthalocyanine and is easy to control the orientation of phthalocyanine rings. The polymer having improved solubility and high purity is expected of use as functional material such as catalysts and recording material.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a plastic base film, a thin magnetic metal layer formed on one side of the base film and a backing layer formed on the other side of the base film, characterized in that the backing layer is composed essentially of a thermoset or radiation-cured resin and carbon black and inorganic compound powder uniformly dispersed in the resin, and has a surface roughness of from 0.05 to 0.4 .mu.m, said carbon black having an average particle size of from 10 to 150 m.mu.m as measured by an electron microscope, said inorganic compound powder having a Mohs hardness of at most 6 and a particle size of from 10 to 500 m.mu.m, and the ratio of the carbon black to the inorganic compound powder being from 1:9 to 9:1.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium, produced by preparing a resin solution for magnetic paint containing a mixture of a radiation curable resin modified copolymer of (A) vinyl chloride, (B) a vinyl carboxylate, (C) vinyl alcohol, (D) an unsaturated carboxylic acid and (E) an unsaturated carboxylic anhydride, containing 50 to 90% by weight of (A) based on the total of the amounts of (A), (B) and (C), 0 to 30% by weight of (E) based on the total of the amounts of (D) and (E), and 1 to 5 parts by weight of the total of (D) and (E) based on 100 parts by weight of the total of (A), (B) and (C) and having an average polymerization degree of 100 to 400 and an other radiation curable resin, and a magnetic powder, applying the resultant magnetic paint to a nonmagnetic substrate, and curing the applied layer of paint with radiation.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium is prepared by preparing a nitrocellulose-based magnetic composition by kneading a magnetic powder with a mixture of nitrocellulose in a solvent system containing isopropyl alcohol and blending the kneaded mixture with a polyurethane containing unreacted isocyanate groups; coating a substrate with the resulting magnetic composition and allowing the coated substrate to dry. The improvement comprises replacing substantial portions of the isopropyl alcohol from the group consisting of polyurethane resins, polybutadiene resins, butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymers, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol copolymers, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymers, vinyl chloride-vinylidene chloride copolymers, vinylidene chloride-acrylonitrile copolymers, vinyl acetate resins, epoxy resins, phenoxy resins, polyvinyl butyral resins, polyvinyl formal resins and polyester resins.
